You could be right. But for me there is defenitly an improvement on v281 balanced vs se using hd650, in the bass. Some time ago I had an Auralic taurus mkII, and indeed some headphones sounded better single ended with the taurus.

Mine are also replaced by Focal, 2 weeks ago. Also had driver that just ‘died’. Same feeling: great headphone, but for how long this time... Do you know if they solved the issue that drivers just die? So that my new pair probably should be there to enjoy for many years.

No, I left the defective Elear at the dealer. (Alpha high-end) They told me that Focal would be contacted, by them. But I did not get a status update yet. It is almost 2 weeks now.

I think Mojo has enough power to drive the elear very well. An amp will only 'color' the sound. But 'color' can be nice. Depends what you are looking for.

@guzmanatm: regarding ifi idsd and mojo: I have had them both for about a year. And eventually sold the ifi. The ifi has more power. And has so many options that it is a fun device to play with. But I draw the conclusion that the mojo is a better dac. (This is my personal opinion of course)

Did anybody else try onkyo hf player converting pcm to dsd 5.6 on iphone? I never used hqplayer, but the onkyo app sounds very very good with ifi micro idsd. Would like to hear how hqplayer and onkyo hf player compare.

It feels like using ECO mode if there is some "punch" missing. But I am going to try to match levels with a db-meter (mark the 2 spots) and try to listen with exactly the same volume level.   Could there be a limitation in "speed" of delivering current to the headphone in ECO mode?
