SONY IER-Z1R
I believe it is, it fits snugly, just the inner layer doesn't provide as much grip as the silicon.- BramblexD

SONY IER-Z1R
Does anyone else have the problem where Comply tips don't "grip" enough onto the Z1R? (Compared to the Sony's silicon ones) I use the silicon M for my left ear and comply M for my right ear, and the comply tip gets stuck most of the time when taking it out, so I have to manually pull it out with...- BramblexD

Campfire - Solaris
The issue here isn't whether the Solaris should or should not use Bellsing or Knowles BA drivers, thats a subjective point. And nowhere is the BA falsely advertised, nor does Bellsing advertise them as genuine Knowles, except that they happen to be marketed as "drop-in replacements", that...- BramblexD

SE846 Filter mod
Wait, for the blue filter mod you pull out the foam right? I did that, and used it for a while. Wanted to try out the brown again and realised that inside the blue filter there is a second piece of foam. Were you supposed to pull that one out as well?- BramblexD

thebit Opus#1 DAP from South Korea
Annoying, but it'll have to do. My laptop has a faulty headphone jack and I don't have my FiiO E10K with me, so the Opus will have to do. As a sidenote, how well can it drive the HD650s?- BramblexD

Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread
The $120 price is to discourage people from paying for it. You have to add it to your basket and checkout (without paying), then email Lee with your order number and a bunch of information. If he replies, your order will have been automatically changed to cost $60 and you can checkout properly...- BramblexD

I recall Lee saying on his facebook he needs to prepare something for 11.11, so that might have been the launch of the biggies on taobao. But for international fans to buy the bundle you currently need to email him personally and have him approve it, the instructions are on the VE facebook. I...- BramblexD

Meze 99 Classics Discussion + Impressions Thread
Been enjoying the 99C with Opus #1 very much, its probably the best "fun" headphone I've heard. Isolation isnt that great though, even indoors with mild conversations going on I still prefer to use iems.- BramblexD

Shure SE846 Impressions Thread
Badly done v shaped sound is whats common. There's reasons why headphones like the TH900 sell (that thing has crazy bass). Switching to a more neutral signature needs getting used to. At the beginning it will sound quite "plain", and its all up to preference.- BramblexD

Shure SE846 Impressions Thread
Maybe you're looking for a more "fun" signature? The 846 are only moderately bassy with the black filters and the ER4 series even less so. A good more V shaped iem would give you that immediate "wow" impact- BramblexD

Shure SE846 Impressions Thread
I do find that people tend to go either "meh" or fall in love with the 846. Had a whole horde of people telling me it was a bad purchase and to go for the andromeda instead, but also quite a few who swear by their 846s. Anyone got experience with the sensaphonics sleeve vs snugs? Still debating...- BramblexD

thebit Opus#1 DAP from South Korea
Odd, some of my music files somehow get deleted and corrupted on the Opus. I have run the SD card through checking programs, its a valid and working 64GB sandisk bought from a legit shop. Re-formatted the drive and copying my music back onto it, hope files dont get corrupted again- BramblexD

thebit Opus#1 DAP from South Korea
Have the Opus #1 with SE846, but sounds quite neutral. Out of my phone the lower frequencies have noticeably more impact. Using medium spinfits and the black filters. Is this just how the Opus sounds and I need to EQ it, or would using foam tips improve it?- BramblexD

Home-Made IEMs
I can't give technical details on the GV, but I finished building the universal kit from Luke, with bass ports uncovered and the sound is excellent. Sub-bass extends far down, bass is a little above neutral, vocals are clean (but I don't listen to vocal music that much so can't really describe...- BramblexD
