    Soundmagic P30, badly matched drivers?

I was just unlucky and got a defective pair. Got them replaced now and I'm enjoying them. I was thinking about K518 or the P30, but the portability of the P30 won. I can fold them and put them in my jacket pocket which is most probably not possible with the K518.

5.1 Headphone experience *Foobar configuration for all stereo music files*

Better late than never, after, to my surprise, enjoying Dolby headphone with music I came across this thread and it sounds really good. Thanks a lot to TS for doing this guide.

    Dolby headphone with music... magical!

Quote: Yeah just read a bit about the surround effect plugins for foobar, will certainly look them up. Crossfeed doesn't do much for me though, it generally makes it sound more mono with less bass and that's about it.

    Dolby headphone with music... magical!

Quote: I've tried the HD600 but I prefer the DT880. Thanks for testing, I'm enjoying how it sounds on my setup though Edit: It's true the reverb is a bit overdone, but overall it sounds really intimate, good when coupled with mellower material like Norah Jones - Come away with me.

    Dolby headphone with music... magical!

Quote: Did you try the different room settings? The DH-3 setting is the one that I find sound best. And also it would vary a lot with your amp/dac and headphones, my setup is a bit lean sounding.

    Dolby headphone with music... magical!

I recently got a new soundcard, the Asus Xonar DG, and have been using the Dolby headphone mode while playing Skyrim. Just a week ago I've set up my headphone rig again (DT880 and Corda HA-1 mkII) and been using it with the Xonar DG. So after a session of Skyrim I still had the dolby headphone...

    Sony NWZ-E354 or NWZ-S754?

Yeah I already ordered the S754, never bought refurbished before so I hope the player will be in good shape when I get it. I don't really worry about line-out for portable players since I find an extra amp too bulky, but I'm curious how well the noise-cancelling will work on my daily bus/tram...

    Sony NWZ-E354 or NWZ-S754?

Well I went with a S754 refurb, since AFAIK from reading up about them they're from the same generation of Sony players with the S754 being the more expensive version, and I've never had active noise-cancelling gear before so I'm curious to see how good/bad that is. And since it's from Canada I...

    Sony NWZ-E354 or NWZ-S754?

Hello everyone, I'm looking into a new portable source since the 2GB memory on my original Clip is getting annoyingly small. I've found some older Sony 8GB players(Sony NWZ-E354 and NWZ-S754) for a decent price and was wondering if anyone has some experience with either player, or if I'm lucky...

    Asus Xonar DG AMP question

Quote: Hi, I just got an Asus Xonar DG today and the front output basically has 3 different power settings, where VOIP is weakest while Exciter is the loudest. Just try it out and see what makes the MS-1's sound best, as long as you're ready for the fairly large increase of volume as...

    Soundmagic P30, badly matched drivers?

I've let them play overnight and it's better now, but still it's slightly louder to the left, I have a rockboxed Clip and with the balance function if I set it to 3% louder to the right it sounds just right. I'll let them play one more day and shoot an e-mail to soundmagic and see if they've got...

    Soundmagic P30, badly matched drivers?

Hello everyone, as most of you I've been reading a lot on the massive portable headphone shootout before my purchase. In the end I went with the Soundmagic P30. I just received them today and noticed there's a clear unbalance right out of the box, as the left driver is clearly louder than the...

    New in-ear from Cresyn

I've recently been looking for some quite affordable canalphones and just about made my decision to go for Creative EP-630 when I came across a newly released contender from Cresyn: LMX-E630 . Anyone got some (p)reviews or additional info about these?

New Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 5 Pro Review

I think it is always a lot more informative if you relate your experiences with a certain headphone to another whenever you say things like "the treble is rolled off" or "the bass is too strong" etc. I mean if someone would for example say the Super.fi pros have simliar treble when compared to...

    SR60s Dissapointing for Rap/Hip-Hop

Quote: Originally Posted by 3lusiv3 I don't think burn in or pad changes will help much. They lack low end bass. I guess you'll need headphones with stronger bass. Agreed, SR60 is quite weak when it comes to low bass, one of the reasons I think MS-1 are clearly better.

What happened to the Shure E4 group buy thread?

First of all I've never been part of any group-buys or am considering one at the moment, but I'd still like to make some observations. While I understand and in parts agree with the needs for the kind of rules being drawn up at the moment to protect the business interests contributing to...

    E5C or UM2 or wait for E4C and UE Super.fi 5Pro?

Wait for both to be released and then read comparisons about E4C vs Super.fi 5 pro/EB, someone who has E3C will probably chime in too. If you really have to rush out and get something my guess is the EB version would suit your taste better.

Ipod regular versus shuffle sound quality depends on the encoding

There are several options when it comes to flashplayers that use the same chipset as the shuffle and sound as good. Creative N/V200, Meizu E2/X2 that have quite a fanbase in Asia and iAudio U2 and I think newer versions of iAudio also. So there's really no reason to go for the Shuffle for a good...

    WoW!...

There are plenty of newer flash mp3-players using the same Sigmatel chipset as the Shuffle like Creatives N/V200 or iAudio U2, even a player as unknown as Meizu E2 and they are all known for having very good sound quality. The difference is that the other players have EQ, display and radio while...

    my extremely short dt880 v. hd650 review

I've had my DT880 for about a year and only recently tried them out of my portables without a dedicated amp and frankly I'm rather surprised how well it does sound directly out of my Zen Xtra or Meizu ME. With the volume cranked up almost to max it does pretty well. Sure the bass is more...

    Corda HA-1 MKII vs. MF X-CAN v3

I tried a X-can V3 in a shop with my Cambridge cd-player and a demo DT880 and I can't say I was that impressed. A week later when I got the HA-1 mkII and DT-880 I was quite a bit happier with that combo right out of the box. Not that there was anything wrong with the V3, it just lacked a bit in...
