3x better than the N3? Gonna need something to back up those claims

Did you get some wide bore tips? Also be prepared to burn them in a bit.

Additionally, I find that wearing the N3 over ear brings back some of the bass that the wide bore tips lessened without damaging the rest of the spectrum! Man I love these things. Cable microphonics are awful though, I don't want to spend a ton money on a new cable.

    Sony XBA-N3AP and XBA-N1AP — Impressions thread

Update! I got some cheap wide bore silicon tips from amazon https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07F718K5D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_pAQTFbH6744DK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1. The sound is massively improved.

    Sony XBA-N3AP and XBA-N1AP — Impressions thread

I'm using the small silicon tips that came with my RHA. They have quite a decent size opening. The mids, particularly the lower mids are lacking. It feels like the bass and treble are right in your ears but the mids are in the distance in front if you. It's not as tangible as I'd like. I enjoy...

    Sony XBA-N3AP and XBA-N1AP — Impressions thread

I currently have a pair of RHA MA750i, I found a good deal on the XBA N1AP for about 65pounds. How do they compare? EDIT: Found a pair of used N3AP's for 90pounds on ebay. A steal, although they had some physical blemishes. The sound is on a completely other level compared to my MA750i, which...

    Shure SE215 vs RHA MA750i

I have the RHA MA750i for a few months now , I bought them at a much cheaper price off eBay, as such I don't imagine I could use it's warranty. I only decided to buy them because of the durability and sound quality. I came from a pair of Sony EX650AP's which were extremely good for the price if...

    ath im70 vs ...

The RHA's for me are more suited to classical. They lack the very low rumble in the bass (bass is definitely there but is not the main focus, impact is present).Opting instead for a more open distant soundstage. It's very detailed and the highs are never too harsh. The vocals are very very...

    Z3 Compact + RHA MA750i  Really good.

They really do sound good but right out of the box they don't. Their balance is way off,  treble is harsh and tizzy sounding, bass sounds weird.   But after a day of burn in everything settles down and the detail it presents is amazing, the bass sounds great, the treble smoothens, and the vocals...

Are you able to connect the cable for the right bud into the left and see whether that works? If it does then you need a new cable

1MORE Triple Driver IEM vs HiFiMAN RE-400?

How do the 1MORE's compare to the RHA MA750i?   I listen to classical and instrumental soundtracks. That tends to mean solid tight bass with clear treble and smooth mids.   I'm wondering which one to go for. What's the build quality like, I know the MA750 are built from stainless steel and...

XRCD to FLAC, any loss in quality?

Wav is uncompressed raw lossless, flac is compressed lossless, with no quality loss at all.

    New Sony EX450 and EX650.

As for Sony's history in audio ; http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/CorporateInfo/History/sonyhistory.html BTW Sony jointly created the S/PDIF interface with Philips. I'm not a Sony fanboy or an Apple hater, Apple makes damn good software and phones but they're not to my taste. But saying that the...

    New Sony EX450 and EX650.

Uh.......no offence but that whole post was complete utter rubbish. Every sentence. Audio quality will only be "as good as it gets" when we can no longer discern the difference between a digital reproduction and live performances, we are no where near that point. Apple has next to no history...

    New Sony EX450 and EX650.

Well no. The Z3 can output hi res. Which is 24bit at 96khz. The iPhone 6 can't. Many people have compared and confirmed that the Z3 series is much superior. Sony has a history of high quality audio equipment and have applied it to their phones. The circuitry is fine, the OS is perfectly suited...

    New Sony EX450 and EX650.

Well the Xperia Z3 Compact has the ability to output much higher quality audio than the iPhone 6. I think the problem is with my EX650 since the hissing is much worse when plugged into my laptop or my sisters Lumia 630. I think the Z3 Compact is just good enough to make the hissing barely...

    New Sony EX450 and EX650.

Yes the hissing is due to current from the phone but because the impedance of the EX650 is so low that the current gets through. On other IEM'S this is not a problem cos the impedance is usually higher. My phone is the Xperia Z3 Compact which is marketed as a high res audio device (not...

    Sony MDR-1A - Sony's latest update on the 1R

The build quality is very good, they feel strong. The casing is sturdy. The rubbery over ear guides seem to be quite strong and help tremendously with the fit. Some people have complained that the cable slot on the IEM'S (detachable cables) can become a bit loose however. I indeed do check them...

    Sony MDR-1A - Sony's latest update on the 1R

You really do have to listen to them first hand, the frequency response chart can only tell you so much. The bass is solid but by no means are these "bass heavy" the clarity is very much sharp and unadulterated by the lower register. The soundstage is very wide and spacious for an IEM. They're...
