AKG K702 65th Anniversary Edition
Thanks. Pretty similar, wonder why my K712 are a little bassier than my K702 65th. Always tought the Annies were somewhere in between the K702 and the K712.- gabrielnorena

More than 3 weeks and still no graph. It's taking too long and I'm really curious about the k702 65th similarities and differences with all the other K70x family.- gabrielnorena

AKG K702 65th Anniversary Edition
I fix it... Just opened part 21 and then tried to remove 23 unsuccessfully, but somehow I manage to fit better parts 23 and 20 together, now it doesn't make friction noise, apparently the union between them was responsible for the noise.- gabrielnorena

AKG K712s Worth it?
I believe the K712 is more natural sounding than the K701 and K702, both of these old units were lacking the bass and sounded almost too bright, not a balanced sound in my opinion... The K712 with the 3db bass boost has now a more natural -speaker like- sound with just enough bass without having...- gabrielnorena

The AKG K712 Pro Support and Impressions Thread
I think both perform really similar, and differences are subtle, with that in mind I have found the famous bass boost (3dB) more prominent in the K712, making it a bit darker than the K702/65th... I believe the Annie has a more defined bass by the way... Both are really detailed and balanced.- gabrielnorena

The AKG K712 Pro Support and Impressions Thread
Ok, I really don't know if older Annies are darker, mine are late production unit and have the same pads that the K712, so maybe that makes them a little less dark... Maybe the new K7XX will be as dark as the older Annies as they are rumored to have older Annie pads... I'm really happy with my...- gabrielnorena

The AKG K712 Pro Support and Impressions Thread
I find the K712 pro a little bit darker than the K702/65th, but both are still very natural-balanced sounding... Anyway, I agree, the HD600 were too dark for my taste.- gabrielnorena

Actually I find the K712 and K702/65th to have a more natural-balance sound... and they look better too.... and the K7XX looks awesome.- gabrielnorena

It is just a matter of personal taste, both deliver about the same sound quality... I prefer the K7 series sound, and I really like the added bass on the K712 and the K702/65th, if the K7XX turn to be like one of these, then it would be a really nice unit.- gabrielnorena

Review by 'gabrielnorena' on item 'Sennheiser HD 25-1 II Professional Headphone'
I have own the Sennheiser HD 25-1 II for more than 6 years now, and everything is still in perfect condition. I have always love the analytical sound this unit delivers... Differences in AKG 7xx family
I also found the K702/65th to feel a little bit airy and brighter (without being harsh) when comparing them to the K712, that would be because of the added bass of the K712 I believe... Anyway, both headphones are slightly less bright than the K701.- gabrielnorena

The 3db bass boost on the K7XX means that it will have 3 time (or 4 times?) the bass in the low frecuency range compared with other K70x models. Bass is around 20 and 320 Hz... Music below 20 Hz is not hearable and there's usually nothing recorded below 20 Hz in most music...- gabrielnorena

Yes, from experience... Theres more bass in the K702/65th than in the K701 and K702, but there is even a little more in the K712. Bear in mind that mine are a late production units, and the pads on both my K712 and K702/65th are the same.- gabrielnorena

Differences in AKG 7xx family
I sold my early K701 looking to upgrade to K702 65th Anniversary Edition or K712 pro, and now I have them both. I was looking for a bit (just a little bit) more bass for mixing and "mastering" purposes (I listen music with them at home too). I found both the K712 pro and the K702/65th to...- gabrielnorena

You're right, my mistake, the voltage sensitivity is what AKG use in their specs now days, so the K70x voltage sensitivity in fact is 105 dB SPL at 1 Vrms. As I said, they will sound better with a decent amp... I never use them with mobile devices anyway, there are other...- gabrielnorena

I know AKG K70x are not the best headphones for mobile device use, but they are no the worst either, i found them somewhat in between... We are talking about different but related things, voltage sensitivity is no the same as power sensitivity. Yes, power sensitivity of the K7 series is 105 dB SPL at 1 mV, but voltage sensitivity of the K7 series is around 117 dB SPL at 1 Vrms.
