I use the Sennheiser BTD-600 to get Aptx on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Works great with the included USB C mini adapter. Lucky for me, my Ryan London case is open at the bottom.

Yes, when connected using DAC (wired) the app can't see the phones. I would expect the last profile saved would be used unless Focus uses a direct mode with DAC mode,

I'm not sure if this answers your question but when I hook up my Focal Bathys via USB, it asks if I want to use the DAC on the headphones.

Do you have another way to test the DAC? Try hooking up to a computer or laptop, run Foobar, etc. At least you will know if it is the Bathys or the iPhone.

I use it all the time in DAC mode with the 15 Pro Max. The only time you would see the too much power message if you connected with a USB C adaptor but of course you are not. Are you using the supplied cable? Power should not be an issue, the work is all being done on the Bathys, (I'm pretty sure).

I own both also. I throw on the Max when doing my nightly dog walk (or the AirPods Pro 2) or when I want to listen to Atmos content. But during the day at the office, its the Bathys in DAC mode. I love them both.

I'm stunned that USB-C audio is not supported in their high end model.
