Question for yall   I just got a JVC SUAX7 and a Fostex HPP1 dac/amp to compare. They both sound great except there is a slight hiss in the background when there is no sound yet on a song.    Do you guys know why this is? They are both set in low gain mode with a usb hooked up to my iPhone 6. 

Do these cables have a mmcx connector?   I wanted to get these for my share 846.

The star tips do something funky with the bass. It is not as full as with the shure foam tips. It sounds more flabby to me with the stars. Clarity is excellent though. 

Can anyone recommend tips with wider bores than the star tips?

As a side note, i just switched out the cables from my jvc 850s to the 846s, these things are now KILLER! So much more lush and organic now and kept all the clarity.    Anyone know what the difference between these cables are?

Well i just got my 846s and I think they are very good. However, I am not completely floored as I was expecting.    My source is my iphone6/macbook pro w/ spotify 320 and I am throwing out all genres.    They do sound very clear but I feel like they lack impact compared to my JVC Fx 850s...

So do I! I didnt know if it would be enough to drive these bad boys.

The Fx850 blow away the Senn IE800. I just got the IE800 in the mail today and I am very unimpressed. I have also purchased (and then returned) the the SE535, Grado Gr10, and the Westone W40.   None of these headphones compare or even come close to the 850s in bass, clarity, soundstage...
