The Best Passive Isolating Universal IEMs thread

"Upgraded" the Ety foam tips with Comply ones. These fit better, they go deeper much easier, but isolation is same or slightly worse. Pretty happy with the setup. I use these at work where radio is playing and other noise.

The Best Passive Isolating Universal IEMs thread

I ended up getting Etymotic Evo. No vents, deep fitting, foam tips. Blocks noise well

The Best Passive Isolating Universal IEMs thread

I'm looking for IEMs with good to excellent isolation as well. What options I have in 100-500$/€ price range? Bought Moondrop Aria, but they let too much noise in through the vents (I believe).

    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

Nearing a one year with the HD600. I use them everyday, I take them to work. I'm surprised nothing has broken and they sound so good I can't imagine better ones. I'll rather remain ignorant of how some even nicer ones may sound. Only thing that is apparently lacking is that at some point the...

    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

3 months with HD600, still love it or rather becoming increasingly more in love with it... The clamping force has given in a bit and the great level of comfort familiar from my old HD555 is back. I haven't used my speakers at all, prefer the privacy of headphones.

    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

I was considering some closed backs so I could block outside noise at work... but considering I hate the inside of head, isolated sound of some iems, which was fixed with VE Monks (earbuds). They sounded obviously much more spacious. I wondered whether jumping to full-size HD600 would be worth...

    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

Aah... Fresh new HD600s arrived. Also had Topping NX1 laying around. Previously I've had some cheap iems and earbuds, Koss porta pros and years ago HD555 and such. HD600 sound almost orgasmic compared to most everything I've had. Would not even consider HD660s, any Audeze or anyhting else as...

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.

Thanks - parts express one costs at very least another KSC to ship here... if I wanted the sporta pro headband, I might as well as have bought sporta pro in the first place... can't win with these things. Maybe some cheap european equivalent of parts express...   E: I like the sound very much...

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.

Man these are nice, ear freeing break from the IEMs. Problem is the stock ear clips are not clips at all, I imagined they would have had a spring. So they sway around off the ear, bass especially sounds completely different. Gonna need better clips or headband.   I can't believe how much...

I've got an idea, buy 24 pairs of these and other cheap China IEMs and make Christmas calendar out of it.

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.

Ordered these babes... hopefully answer to my forever problem of finding something that sounds good and works for exercise, cycling etc. In general I prefer to have awareness over isolation when out and about.   Had one of the Sennheiser sport models, sounded kinda crap and at least the one I...

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

$159 to here, 125€... a bit much, but I think that's still cheaper than anywhere else I found with quick search. I'm soooo tired of many cool things being available for much cheaper in US. At least we have Germany and Switzerland producing cool stuff.   I call dollars the cheap money... and...

The FiiO X1 Discussion and Help and Support Thread |192K/24B|100mW | LO | inline remote

Yeah, I cringed at myself when typing that... but I guess its budget setup to many here, and I meant budget in relation to how good sound and usability it provides.

Cayin C5, Fiio X1 and Havis must be great sounding budget setup... anybody rocking that?

Oh, well I still think it makes the noise coming from your source more audible due to different signature... so likely ES is fine, but not so nice to listen to with your source...   I have hiss with my NX1, but haven't compared wether it sounds different on the IEMs... I'll check that...

    Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread

What noise? Comes from your source/amp, right? I think ES signature overall being bit clearer, brighter, more treble oriented, and not having that bloaty bass covering stuff, it would be quite expected that certain noise becomes more audible. So I doubt your ES have any problem.

Cayin N6 - New Audiophile DAP (Updated with new pics)

Well well, doesn't look so bad in the new pics, eye-catching at least... looking forward to price reveal, hopefully they surprise with low-ish price.

The Cayin C5 portable power house.

Good idea... I would rip the clip off clue it to my NX1.

Out of my EDSE, ES and DT3, definitely ES for you preferences, but I have only those three. I think particularly a cappella, jazz sort of thing sounded nicer with ES compared to other two... both have overpowering bass. Micro ring and couple others are also recommended here.   Mandatory...

    Havi B3 Pro-1 Impressions Thread

Hows Havi coming from KZs, except obvious expanded soundstage? Can I expect sense of airiness that normally lacks in IEM (maybe inherent trait)?

Pictures of Your *Budget-Fi* Portable Rig (< $200)

Here's the damages after hanging out here for while. Cable is ridiculous and the whole thing is impractical mess to anybody with any sort of standards, but works for a cheap hippie like me, I can't bother with rubber bands or anything. Can ditch the cable and amp when at gym, what a relief. I...

    Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread

Postman brought DT3... darker and bass is the first apparent difference to ES. Kinda fatiguing in IEM for me, but someone might love it... ES remains my favorite of these three (EDSE, DT3). Can't bother to muster some fancy descriptive words, it just is. Others gave good descriptions already...

    Psychology or similar forum?

Aha, that clears it up, thanks. What was my point though is that the word psychoacoustics doesn't read anywhere, so people could be directed to discuss it here... of course somebody who has been here longer knows to come here and cherrypick the relevant threads, but for me it's very unclear. It...

    Psychology or similar forum?

Thanks, is this sound science forum place for the discussion then? Or do you mean it's scattered around? Because there could be a focused psychoacoustics forum., that's what I mean.   This happens to be most interesting part for me, and I feel like it's scattered and underpresented, and people...
