Hi, I bought a Astell&Kern AK100ii combined with Shure SRH 1540, Superb. Big image, very balanced sound, very detailed. Conerning the DAP the AK is based on very performant CIRRUS chip and has a balanced output as well. The AMP is of A class. From my knowledge it comes with the most user...

So, after two weeks I got the AK 100ii. After 2 days the Shure SRH 1540. Listening to the jazz, classical songs in DSD, 24/192,24/96 I was really impressed by the detailed image, instruments separation and the clarity of everything.  It is like CRYSTAL clear, every strike on a guitarcord, every...

    Combine Astell&Kern AK100ii with Shure SRH 1540

Furhtermore on technical specs the AK 100ii propose a wider frequency band than the X5.  And I'm convinced that the Cirrus DAC is more performant (more balanced) than the TI one. What do you think?

    Combine Astell&Kern AK100ii with Shure SRH 1540

Thanks for your reply, PurpleAngel.  The SRH 1540 has an impedance of 46 Ohm, I'm wondering which source device will drive the SRH 1540 best : the X5 or the AK100ii.  Knowing that I prefer balanced sound over all frequencies.
