[Review] Philips SHL3300 "DJ" Headphones - Most Underrated Headphone?
So last night I wanted to do something about the headband. Originally I planned on slicing it open, taking out the foam, cutting away some of the rubber and sticking a softer piece of padding inside, but realised half-way that slicing through all of that rubber would be far too difficult/take...- Philliphobia

Fostex T50RP Incremental Mods and Measurements
Bought some brainwavz HM5 angled pleather pads, managed to legitimately fit them on my T20RPs!! Previously I was using ordinary brown HM5 pads. Saw these new angled ones and couldn't resist. I didn't want to deal with the mess of double sided tape and sticky residue, so I just stretched...- Philliphobia

I think you're right - it looks like a 661 with the 681 EVO headband. I'm sure there were some images a while back of some superlux concepts, with some hd 661 EVO, essentially being exactly that?- Philliphobia

[Review] Philips SHL3300 "DJ" Headphones - Most Underrated Headphone?
the headband really is a stupid design choice by philips. Thick block of rubber with a thin strip of foam which doesn't actually affect comfort due to the shape of the band... Anyone opened theirs up? I'm considering opening the headband up at some point and seeing if I can slice away some of...- Philliphobia

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!
To anyone using HM5 pads on their T50RP (and not taped on), how much did you need to stretch it? and which part of the pad, the inner diameter or the back flap? My pads and other modding materials are ready, so I'm starting to try and stretch the HM5 pads out for a couple weeks before I order...- Philliphobia

[Review] Philips SHL3300 "DJ" Headphones - Most Underrated Headphone?
This is an old thread, but since it's a fairly undocumented headphone/mod I figured I should post here. I was able to test an SHL 3300 at my local maplin, and decided recently to order the headphones and some used DT770 pads. 2 additional modifications I did were removing the plastic grid where...- Philliphobia

I'm also pretty interested in the HD 330. Only problem is, adding in DT 770 pads (seems like the best pads for the job, there's an old thread comparing some different pads on the 330) and shipping from thomann to UK comes out at around £40 for me. is this still the best (or only) choice for well...- Philliphobia

SUPERLUX HD 669 Review & comparison with HD 681-EVO. Take what I say with a grain of salt, I have not experienced many headphones and I've only had the 669 for a fairly brief amount of time. I'll keep the review sections nice and short, so you don't have to sift through waffle. Build...- Philliphobia

http://www.thomann.de/gb/superlux_hmc_681_evo.htm Superlux HMC-681 EVO are on thomann now, has anyone tried them? If the one review on there is any indication, then these might just be the best bang-for-buck, good sounding headset. Almost half the price of hyperx cloud/qpad QH-90.- Philliphobia

Review by 'Philliphobia' on item 'Brainwavz Delta'
Before I start, I am no audiophile and have very, very limited experience with good headphones/earphones. This review is more of just my impressions as someone with almost nothing better to compare it with. I got this for less than £10, which was an amazing steal, considering how good they...- Philliphobia

They were mentioned a few pages back, but has anybody tried this or this yet? They both look beautiful (especially the cable on the second one) and the latter would make a great gift- Philliphobia

ATH IM50 vs Ostry KC06?
deciding on some <£40 IEMs to buy at some point, and I'm interested in both of these, and also possibly the soundmagic E30. Anyone have any comparisons or recommendations? I havcen't really found my preferred sound signature yet, but I'd probably like something neutral-ish, either a bit warm or...- Philliphobia

Would this little wooden case work as a Cmoy/any other DIY amp enclosure?
I've got this little wooden case that an antique Telescope I got came in. I'm thinking of doing a cheap little DIY amp like a cmoy some time in the near future and I'm wondering if I would be fine using this (since altoids/altoid cases arent cheap to get in the UK) pics -->...- Philliphobia
