    Fostex T60RP

I don't need to pay for returning it. I used it for quite a bit today and it did not go away. It is the exact same. I even spent whole minutes rotating the cups in the hopes that it would stop at some point, but it doesn't seem to be the case. I guess I'll just return them simply because I don't...

    Fostex T60RP

Hmm... Doesn't sound like a bad idea, either. Makes you wonder why their QC doesn't check for stuff like this. Seems like a pretty obvious issue.

Much appreciated. I'll give it a try when I'm at home :)

    Fostex T60RP

Maybe someone here can help me out a bit. I tried searching for this, but I'm not coming up with much other than the fact that it happens to some units. I just got my T60RP, brand new. I love the sound, but the creaking is so loud it drives me insane. I can't move an inch without hearing it...

    Win a SUSVARA

I would love to own this wonderful piece of equipment. I've previously owned and listened to other Hifiman products. I've owned the HE-400 years ago and loved it, it was my first planar and as we all know, you don't easily forget your first love. I've also borrowed the HE-560 from a friend and...

@SoundApprentice I totally understand what you mean. We live in a world of exaggerated prices for quality products. It's so bad that I'm thinking "Huh, 600$ really isn't that much...", but we shouldn't be here. On the comfort side of things, the Audeze were for quite good for my large ears and I...

@SoundApprentice Hmm, that does sound like it makes sense. I'm one of those people that enjoy the sort of dark Audeze sound, so it would make sense that the Amiron would be more up my alley than the DTs. I didn't really love the 770s or the 990s, but I appreciated them for what they were and...

See, this isn't fair. I've had my eyes on the DT 1990 Pro, but now I'm just confused. I wonder how they compare...

The Closed Wars: MrSpeakers ETHER C vs. Audeze LCD-XC vs. Fostex TH900 vs. MrSpeakers Alpha Prime vs Fostex TH-X00 - Comparison

Give us the girl and wipe away the debt! Sorry, couldn't help it. I don't know if this is of much help to you, but this is a bit of a guide Mr. Speakers posted right here on Head-fi about modding your Alphas by starting from Fostex T50/40/20RP. You will always want better headphones...

    Hello!

Perhaps this thread might help http://www.head-fi.org/t/764585/tube-amp-recommendations-for-he-560 I've always like the Valhalla 2 for its aspect and price, but I doubt that helps :D

    Hello!

If it's just recessed mids, then you can just try and tweak the EQ. If that doesn't seem to work at all, then do try another amp, but I think that would be going a bit too far... Not mention that it could be costly

    Hello!

I had the Focus pads, but aside from those, Hifiman also sells some cheaper velour pads, which from what I hear can do a decent enough job taming the wild treble :D The point about the tube amp was the fact that getting a tube amp allows to alter its sound signature by tube rolling and...

    Hello!

Hey, Charlie! Great to have you here! If you don't think it's the right combo because of the harsh treble, that's just what they sound like in general due to their planar lineage, I fixed it to a certain extent using different pads that dampen the sound a bit. I've also heard that a...

    About ma ATH M50

Hey, Biren! You don't need an amp for the M50s, they're quite easy to drive, tried them out with Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5 and they are fine. I enjoy a quieter listening and I just keep the volume leveled at 5-6/10, but do whatever is comfortable with you. Just avoid listening at really high...

Help regarding DAC/AMP + Volume level on HE-400i

Hardware EQ if available, using the dedicated software if it exists or just try to use EQ in your player, but it's not really ideal. By the way, why don't you consider a all-in-one solution like the Aune X1s, O2+ODAC combo? Or other inexpensive, bang for buck options :)

Help regarding DAC/AMP + Volume level on HE-400i

There's also a Schiit vendor in the UK, respectively electromod, if that helps. It's still more expensive than in the US, but definitely cheaper than ordering from there and covering shipping and import taxes.

Help regarding DAC/AMP + Volume level on HE-400i

Hey, Thomas! If you're having trouble getting to reasonable listening levels, it's a problem with the amplification, not the DAC. The X7 has a built in amp that should do fine. I've used the HE-400 with the Creative Sound Blaster Zx and it was fine. I could hear everything fine with my...

Oppo Sonica DAC (an affordable ES9038PRO Sabre DAC)

Yeah, I don't even want to take something like that into consideration. Put it into the perspective of comparing with the price of a car and a 2K DAC will still fall short on that. Don't get me wrong, I love music, probably more than some. That's why I spent money for it, both buying CDs...

Oppo Sonica DAC (an affordable ES9038PRO Sabre DAC)

May very well be, but you're basing that on an assumption. Moreover you're comparing it to 2/4K USD DACs, which I honestly believe are highly inflated prices that cannot be reasonably justified. Be it either by ridiculous designs of materials/ production procedures used or just simply because...

Oppo Sonica DAC (an affordable ES9038PRO Sabre DAC)

I'm sorry if it seems like I got a bump on the head for saying this (even more so here, on Head-fi), but my definition of affordable seems to be quite different. I genuinely think that calling a 800$ product affordable is encouraging less affordable prices. After all, a bad reception from the...

    Purchasing headphone amp

Yeah, that is true. I forgot about that since I always plugged my headphones in the back. That seemed like common sense to me since a lot of front panels have the same problem.
