I've never had that happen with my IE2s. Although I did have the wiring insulation completely wear through and begin to fall off. The ear tips seemed fairly robust even with me pulling and twisting them when I was bored.

I'm really not sure if the sport ones are that much better. I was thinking of buying a pair to replace my Bose IE2s but from the reviews I read on Amazon, the quality isn't any better. It's a shame really because they truly are very comfortable and have decent sound.

Interesting. Thanks for this! The issue that I have with Momentum is that the earpads are not deep enough, so the speaker rests on my ear. For the first hour or so, it's fine. After that, it starts to hurt. I thought of making deeper ear pads myself but wasn't sure how to make sure they slip...

Can anyone comment on the fit of these headphones?

I love my Momentum headphones. Just wish there was a way to get thicker earpads. They are too shallow and therefore the speaker rests slightly on my ear which causes discomfort after long listening sessions (3-4 hours). Under that time they are great and actually pretty comfortable.

I always learn the most when I do it "the hard way". But seriously though, thanks for the heads up. I had no idea that loctite would do that to plastic, is it ABS plastic specifically? I've only ever used loctite for car repairs or where the threads/bolts/etc are metal.

I would imagine that it wouldn't be that difficult to fix. If I had to guess, the two halves that clamp onto the headband are tightened to a certain amount using threads of some type. So, all it would require is to tighten it back up and use some loctite on the threads so they don't back out.

Not sure about tuning, but the pads just slip out of a groove in the headphones and then you can remove them. Search YouTube, I saw a few videos showing how it's done, it's pretty straightforward.

Just wanted to say that I received my Momentums yesterday. Been listening to them almost non stop. I love them. I enjoy hearing the little details that I didn't hear before in my music.

Awesome. When I went from the Apple ear buds to the Bose IE's I thought that was an improvement. Can only imagine what going from IE's to Momentum will be like.
