Well, as it turns out, I soldered the battery terminals on backwards...I know, not my finest moment.  But, to anyone who cares, I now have a fully functional new toy.  And, I did buy the AC power supply and complete the amp tests as recommended.  Thanks to WillyW0nka for your willingness to help.

OK, after reading that I can just use 2 batteries for the test, I went ahead and started the test.  After turning on the amp after inserting the batteries, the LED doesn't come on and I'm reading 0.28 volts across the leads.  Any ideas?  I was hoping I would get a little further before I found...

Decided to go ahead with the testing.  So far, all of the resistors are reading correct.  Now I just need to wait for an 18VAC power supply.

So, I've recently "attempted" an O2 amp build and seemed to screwup somewhere along the way. I skipped the resister tests due to finding out that my DMM kicked the bucket, and I only anticipated using 9 volt throw aways (since I have a ton of them) I skipped the other tests. I know, pretty dumb...

  That's funny, I just took one of these cables, cut off one of the ends and rewired my Sony MDR-7506's because I hated the long cord!!   But, its pretty much impossible to unsolder the tip and reuse it with different wire as the screw-on piece is actually the plastic that encases the wiring.  

Sign me up too!  I don't have any reviews on Head-fi.org either, but I'll be objective, well thoughtout, and forthcoming on what I find.  I do believe that I could be of great help.

Thanks for all of the recommendations, but, I may have to go with the e18 or e17.  I'm quite partial to my Google Music subscription right now and would like to be able to stream whatever I wanted.  But, I don't think that I'd have any issues with audio over USB OTG, I plugged in a Turtle Beach...
