Stay away from the 5909, known to fall apart because the glue on the headpand and earpads lets go.

Second head band is gone, pleather let go everywhere. Impossible to glue back in as the pleather absorbs hair oils so no way to glue it back in. Seriously fed up with the such low build quality of the 5909. Unacceptable in this price range.

It's like pitch changes with male singers starting to sing a bit closer to Barry White lol, what's even crazier is that it goes back to normal immediately after turning the external clock back on. When I turn it off again, the pitch drops again, it is 100% repeatable and always gives the same...

Guys, riddle me this: Gustard R26 connected to an external 10MHz clock and to a streamer with a USB cable, I turn the external clock off while the music is playing - the pitch drops noticeably but everything still plays - screen on the R26 says EXT ERR (obviously) but it still plays undistorted...

Uhm isn't it the same as Eversolo A8 i2S? I though I had a picture of both and they were the same except for a small name change. I bought the A8 but sadly I don't have both the R26 and the A8 in the same house at the moment so cannot try it out. Eversolo: (Eversolo can swap mute pin in settings)

Not sure how important the micro SD card is when the unit is running and not using the LAN input but microSD's occassionaly 'die'. If it's doing lots of R/W you can try replacing it if it happens again.

I'm thinking about changing to the Eversolo A8 as it has the IIS HDMI output which the A6 lacks. However, the pinout on IIS/I2S is non standard so I wonder - has anyone paired an A8 with R26 yet? I'm afraid the A8 will be close sound wise to making the R26 redundant.

I bought another R26 but with the OCK2 clock... but the clock is useless when using USB, right? Have the Eversolo A6 as transport and wondering how to hook it up to the R26 to it the best way. Kinda a brain fart moment, especially knowing A6 doesn't have i2S on HDMI.

Disregard my previous post, the parts from china are garbage, headband foam had 2 snapped off screw holes in the frame. Earpads are like completely wrong, too small and lack any clips to attach them.

So I got the parts from China, haven't installed them yet but they look decent enough, will try to make some photos with the old parts next to it. The headband has a few minor dents though. One difference - the decorative stiching on the headband cushion is black, not red.

Well, the No.5909 took the crown of being the worst built headset I've ever head, with the Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless being close second. I don't know what ML has used for that piece of pleather in the headband but mine came completely loose after about a year, tried to reglue it yesterday...
