My Compass just died, too.  I sent a pic of the internals to Kingwa and he told me to connect two points on the board.  I haven't done it yet as I'm not quite sure how to go about it.  I asked him if I can connect the contact points on the board together with solder, or do I need a wire to...

I wouldn't worry about it. I have the DR150 plugged into a cheap Chaintech -- into a port that in fact everyone I talked to said "absolutely needed amplification." I'm thinking of getting this card as I hear it's quite good for gaming, but I didn't see anything about it's music quality (analog, not digital). Would this card be better for music output than a Chaintech AV710, or worse?
