Topping NX3s
Thanks. Why would that matter if the amp has it's own battery? When you say over 2v what do you mean? The specs say power is rated at 180mw@16.- bracque

Topping NX3s
Hi all, I just got a NX3S to use with beyerdynamic dt770 80ohms. I have replaygain on my flac files playing through a shanling m2x through the topping. Obviously I hear a difference with the amp vs without, but using it with high gain on I am pretty much at 100pc volume. I was expecting more...- bracque

R5, a new Android DAP by Hiby
I don't use tidal. I use Spotify. I know what each player can and cannot do. U prefer the extra goodies on the r5 but I worry about the build quality. Aside from the moving part it just didn't feel as solid as a shanling. Would flac files play as well on each? Would either be better at...- bracque

R5, a new Android DAP by Hiby
I had to return 2 R5s. In both cases something big inside was loose, sounded like the board or battery. Musicteck has been great, he received a new batch so he can send me a third one, or another player. I am debating just grabbing a shanling m2x, as I am not sure i trust hiby build quality...- bracque

I just tried shaking it again while holding the buttons, same thing. It is something big in there moving around. If this is not a QC issue then these things are garbage. Has to be a QC issue...- bracque

Really? My Shanling M2S was rock solid from a construction perspective. If that is the case that is very disappointing, makes me wonder what else in there is not properly secured.- bracque

Hi, I just got an r5. I received one weeks ago, but when i shook it, it sounded like something big inside was loose. I returned it and received a replacement. It is not as bad but when i shake it something still sounds loose. Is this normal?- bracque

R5, a new Android DAP by Hiby
Hi all, just bought the R5. In terms of settings: In settings there are a few selections: low-pass filter - what is this? gain - what would yield the best sound, or is this just set to high for hard to drive headphones? DSD gain - if i have no DSD files do i need to worry about this? balanced...- bracque

Low end. Cheap. Generic. Otherwise bang for buck cable thread!
the included cable has copper and silver, so probably more like the ISN H8. what would the difference be between the C16 and H16? and are the 16s too thick for walking around listening? thanks.- bracque

Low end. Cheap. Generic. Otherwise bang for buck cable thread!
Hi all, I have heard good things about ISN I was reading this and other threads trying to see which might suit me better between the C16 and H16, and then saw pictures of how fat they are, which made me think maybe the H8 would be better. Anyways, any comments on C16 vs H16, or either 16 vs...- bracque

R5, a new Android DAP by Hiby
Thanks again. I'll give it some thought. Realistically it would probably be 70-80% R5 and 20-30% plugged into an integrated amp, so the 80 is probably the way to go. Have you tried any other under $200 closed cans you like?- bracque

Would you recommend the 80 ohms over the 32 Ohms? Or would the added versatility of being able to use 32s with a less powerful device like a phone or laptop be outweighed by a loss of SQ or something else when compared to the 80 Ohms?- bracque

Thanks for the feedback. Judging by a previous reply it sounds like power output and the type of cans you want to drive should play into my decision.- bracque

Thank you very much! I normally use some simgot in ears, but those are for walking around. I was thinking of getting something better for in-house listening, as I have historically not had much success in choosing music to play on the stereo when my wife and daughter are around. So you have...- bracque

Thanks again, so I assume the copper silver mix is better? And when you wrap around you ear the staywires put, relatively? The one i have now has a slight bounce, probably from the tube around them on the section behind the ears, and the chin slider slides down as it is not very secure.- bracque

Hi all, I have the Simgot EN700 Pro. Can anyone recommend a good replacement cable? I don't mind how the originals sound, but when I walk around they have a lot of bounce which is a little annoying. I have to use that slidey metal thing and push it up closer to the housings to help stop it...- bracque

Hi all, would something like an R5 improve the sound of Spotify through Bluetooth headphones like Sony WH-1000XM3 when compared to a galaxy s9? Or does the SQ come down to how the headphones alone process the signal? Thanks- bracque
