Good point.   Am I wrong to say than a  unamped Senn HD 558 will give me a SIGNIFICANT improvement over my current  Pana rp-htx7 and the Fischer Eterna? (I tried unamped hd 598, it did impress me )

I am in asia .. sometimes in vietnam, sometimes in singapore. The best deal i can get so far is a brand new hd 558 for 160 USD. It's is from a listed Senn distributor so I bet i wont get fake ones.  

yes, i wont mind but shipping cost seems ridiculous at times.

any specific recommendation ? with 200, I will go further than the Takstars. I know ath-m50x is in the price range but I hate them ( my ears must be weird !! ).

Do HD 558 needs an amp? I can get it for 160 USD locally. I heard it is more bass-biased than the hd 598.

Ha Ha, I happened to read this whole thread the other day. That is why im so curious about the Takstar phones.

At the moment, I can get the denon Ad-1100 at about 150 USD. Can anyone compare this to the Takstar pro 80 in terms of SQ and comfort?

Uhm interesting, but im afraid this set up may sound somewhat too analytical for me.
