Alex @ APureSound is pretty well known for repairing headphone drivers including the L3000's - He would be a good person to contact since for some reason Mr. Grado wont touch your pair.

Get a hold of Alex at APureSound.com Thats your best bet - i know he has done headphone repair, and he has personally helped fix a few of mine (as well as recable them)
