In the grand scheme of things, it's not taking Denon as long as it's taking Audiocubes to ship an order placed before the contest, available within 1-3 days. So if Denon took two extra weeks, they'd still be faster... Giving out free headphones. :)

Yeah, that sound is called "A pretty good compromise at getting an iphone to sound reference without any help" until its character is changed completely with a big boy source and amp, and 120 extra ohms in the headphone jack, then it really shows its stuff. The guy you got into that flame war...

Historically the dt770 has never been a closed back dt880, so I don't know how the t70 could be expected to be, but anyway...  

The biggest one, and it's not true of all Beyers IMO, but some, is the extra ohms. I don't know, maybe that would annoy me more if I didn't have a Corda amp the 120 ohm output option staring me right in the face an no more difficult to plug into.   That really bloats up many headphones, but...

Let's see, my first taste of a grown up headphone was the old 600 ohm dt990, the one with the plastic and cloth headband. Then I had the dt990 pros, dt880, dt531, dt250/80 (the unsung hero), the dt990 600 ohm Manufaktur, the t50p, and now I'm on the t5p. Those "Beyer is team treble" people don't...

Well it's not like I'm the one who made them, you don't have to blame me for plugging into the 120ohm out to see what happens. Beyer's own amp isn't exactly a 0 ohm headphone out.   The paradox is that from an iPhone they sound fine too. But plugging into a bigger source I guess reveals...

Necromancing an old thread, but I was researching this subject on the t5p. It's early days in the burn-in process, and for my main rig I prefer them from the 120ohm output by a long way. Thank goodness for not selling the Corda! :)

I haven't heard the t1, but do have the t5p unburned in on my ears right now. The soundstage is big, but I've never heard a Beyerdynamic with s logic. :p Whether s logic is actually a thing or not, it belongs to Ultrasone, So, if we have the t70, then I wonder when we will also see the t80 and...
