    R10, Orpheus and Omega II

Lol..Daveemac yeah...some said the Omega's sounded "thin" lacking in weight and heft. Others also mentioned electrostatics don't do bass at all. Well, at least Jatinder noted the Omega's exhibited plenty of bass extension. So if anything come out from this thread, we now know that Omega's...

When I woke up I didnt expect to own 2 more headphones..

Welcome to electrostatic sound, M Rael. I don't know what kind are these that you're using, but the Omega II's doesn't lack any bass response.

Sony MDR-R10 comprehensive review. World’s Best Dynamic Headphone?

markl, Thank for the informative and thorough review. I know first hand this kind of review required much preparation and not to mention hard work. I'm truly appreciative for this hard to come by review. Your overall summary of the R-10's tally with my impression of the Omega II's when I...

Initial impressions of the Grado HP-1

Quote: The only genre I feel that I may wanna improve on is classical symphony/orchestra music so I may try out some electrostatics. Vka, Does this means you're ready to take the plunge for Omega II's? Btw, what other 'phones are you using, HP-2?

REVIEW: Stax SR-007 (Omega II) and SRM-007t

TerriblySorry, I have, just haven't gotten hold of the P300 yet. Btw, those Nordost Valhalla cables sound spectacular with your system eh? I'd a chance to audition one of their lesser model and I was speechless.

    Electrostatic or Dynamic?

Well, if you have the green to burn, here are my recommendation: *Omega II + SRM-007t(amp) + Nordost(cables) = classic and jazz *Omega II + SRM-717(amp) + Granite Audio(cables) = pop and rock or anything you desire. Add a Class 'A' digital front end to any of the above combo and you'll...

    Balanced Sound w/ Cary 300SEI?

Hey Vka! I see you finally acquired the SCD-1. Man isn't it a beautiful unit eh? Not to mention all those shiny metal used in the construction weights a ton. That's the only thing I hate of high-end suff. It seems that as you climb up the ladder, the toys seem to get heavy and heavier...

    Stealth Cables

I've owned both Stealth's top silver cables (power cord & interconnect). For the money, I think they are some of the finest cables on the market both sonicly and build quality.

    My Dream Headphone Setup

Dhwilkin's system is similar to mine. I would like to see Stax comes out with a signature version of the SRM-T2 amp. The T2 amp is impossible to find and Stax Co has no plan of reissuing such amp. If there ever be a T2S, it will most certainly be part of my "dream system".

    Stax SRS-4040 Review

Hi Jenneth, Great review! Where is the Stax Crew for the cheering? I'm glad you've decided to go with the Granite Audio #470 XLRs. When I first acquired these cables for my own, my first impression was that they provided everything I needed but lacking in smoothness and warmth. Like all...

Stax Omega 2 - first impressions

Just thought I chime in for a moment. Having owned an Omega IIs for nearly 6 months, I can attest to the fact that these 'phones do not lack any bass response. In fact, their bass is the fastest, deepest, tautest and most accurate among some of these: ER4S, HP-1, RS-1 and HD600. Due to...

    Stax SRS-4040 interconnect advice

Jenneth, Congrats on your new toy (Stax SRS-4040). You've just attracted the Stax disease. Since acquiring my Stax system, I'd been on the quest in searching for the 'missing link' to fulfill my musical enjoyment. Of all headphones (ER4S, RS-1 and HD600), the Stax 'phones are by far the...

    Stax Omega Review in Stereophile

Hello gentlemen, I echo the guy sentiments on this review. When I first laid my hands on a pair of Omega II, this headphone move me so much such that I almost write a novel on its sonic mastery. Do Stereophile monitors the net? I think so. It's almost as though Mr. Jonathan Scull know...
