Audeze LCD-2 with good gear better than LCD-3 with normal gear?
to me its almost a no-brainer. this. Audeze LCD-3 with just the stock cable + cheap USB-cable + Alo Audio Pan am without Passport battery pack. im currently using lcd-2 rev.2, i have 4 diff cables inc. the stock. i THINK i can hear a difference BUT i also THINK i couldnt discern the diff...- wjh7

New Audeze LCD3
very insightful read indeed! you're very consistent with your arguments while acknowledging some of the flaws that might possibly crop up in your methodology. i think the take home point for me is this: given how our sensory devices can suffer from distortion and hence affect perception...- wjh7

Audeze LCD-X
heyas, im actually contemplating a T1 atm instead of Lcd-x only beacuse its much cheaper. this may have been covered before, but do they even sound remotely alike? how do they compare in terms of detail retrieval and tonality specifically? i have an lcd-2 rev.2 so i can imagine what planar...- wjh7

New Audeze LCD3
Aidee, your comparison is meaningfully stimulating. Your thoughts and findings regarding how brain signal works with perceptions and memory influencing how we come to understanding our senses somewhat mirrors mine. I think a significant part of it may explained by the fact that when you...- wjh7

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
i think if you take the he-560 review/impression thread at face value; depending on the weighing of each category (comfort, treble, mids, bass etc), an educated guess would be that the 560 is more neutral than the its predecessor; and since fazor lcd-2 is heading that direction too, the lcd-2...- wjh7

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
i think in his article he states that the technical capabilities of the fazor lcd-2 is arguably superior to the older ones. but theres a trade off he says; bass for clarity and soundstage, and this is where he exercises his preference.- wjh7

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
he certainly does imply that. whats more, i could probably infer two more things; i) he prefers the pre-fazor LCD-2s. The pre-fazor models retain the signature of Audeze house sound. ii) the $1k segment of the headphone has become very competitive since the launch (or soon to be released)...- wjh7

Shoot-Out: Beyer DT880 600 Premium vs 250 Pro... On a Woo Audio WA3
i used to own a 600 ohm pro. it is relatively rarer and harder to come across. below are some eg. of sites selling and ppl discussing the 600ohm pros http://www.avforums.com/threads/beyerdynamic-dt880-pro-600-ohm.1629133/...- wjh7

Shoot-Out: Beyer DT880 600 Premium vs 250 Pro... On a Woo Audio WA3
good job with the review. tho it'd be a good if you could land a 600ohm pro to compare with. Beyer does make 600ohm pros btw.- wjh7

The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread
the studio version (called Pro) comes in all 3 flavours; 32, 250 and 600 ohm. I've previously owned a pro 600ohm not long ago. tho they're definitely rarer and harder to find.- wjh7

Audeze LCD-X
mate! imma starving student! tho do update us with a detailed review, would love to hear the differences between an old lcd-2 vs fazor lcd-3. differences might be notable enough to warrant the jump in prices now.- wjh7

Audeze LCD-X
i think your suspicion is not unfounded. the LCD-2 (july 2011 batch rev.2) that i have on hand is rated @ 60ohm and 91db/mW and the 'updated' LCD-2 shows a rating of 70ohm and 94db/mW on their site. if you look around some vendors' site, info for the previous spec is still available for...- wjh7

Sennheiser RS220 Availability?
I've had the RS 220 for roundabout 6 months now; yes, the dock works with other rechargeable batteries fine. couldnt really comment whether Eneloops provide better performance as theres no way to test it reliably.- wjh7
