What speakers for 700sq feet? (for listening)

I have a private lobby that's about 700sq large, and I want to put speakers that I can just play music with good quality. My listening genres are mostly pop, hiphop, rnb. The budget is $500. What would you recommend? I also have Yamaha HS-8 which isn't in use right now. Could this be a good...

Help with high-end earphones (not a fan of ie800)

I have been using Sennheiser ie800 for a while now which I have never been a fan of. Didn’t really justify the price, despite of buying it from a good friend at a great price. Maybe the earphones are somewhat limited.. I happen to think that in headphones, the upgrade from HD650 to 800s was so...

    HD800 vs. HD800S for Mixing&monitoring

Thanks for the responses. My question was intended more towards 800 itself vs. the new 800s, not so much the 600. I only wrote that just in case people recommend it because it's much cheaper route.

    HD800 vs. HD800S for Mixing&monitoring

I'm planning to get myself a good pair of headphones for mixing&monitoring. It's not really for a listening pleasure, so I wonder which one suits better for my situation. I'm not sure about using amps, but I do own UFX if that can somewhat replace a good amp at least a little bit. Lots of people...

General viewpoint on Bowers & Wilkins vs. JBL?

I'm trying to get a 5.1 system for my room. JBL has really good deals right now, but I've never used them thus I don't know how much of a sound quality I could expect. On the other hand, B&W seems to have a good 5.1 system, although they're not on sale currently, but since I've used MM-1, I feel...

Has anyone tried 5.1 for Classical Music?

I haven't really considered 5.1 at all for my computer audio system, but I started to think about it now because I'm getting a pipe organ sample, and thought surround system might actually be good for this case as surround system would kind of give that similar acoustic as playing the organ in...

HD 650 + Vali + Xonar Essense STX

Hey guys thanks for all the reply. I'm just going to stick with STX for now and will save money for Valhilla or something. I was wondering if there's a difference between connecting the headphones directly into the soundcard vs using the adapter that came with it.

HD 650 + Vali + Xonar Essense STX

Thanks for the reply! I will be using exclusively for music listening and mixing, so am I good with the STX DAC?

HD 650 + Vali + Xonar Essense STX

I currently have HD 650 AND Xonar Essence STX, I was wondering if getting Vali would be a good choice. I heard STX is good for DAC, so what I have in mind is: Hd 650 -> Vali -> STX.

    HD600 + Schiit Vali

Thanks for the reply! Just some more questions for clarification.. If Xonar functions as both DAC/Amp, why would I need Vali? Would getting it and connecting to Xonar enhance the sound quality? Also, if I do it that way, does it mean that I won't need DAC?

    HD600 + Schiit Vali

I currently have the Xonar Essense STX, desktop PC. So does that mean DAC isn't quite necessary? I'm not too sure about what DAC is actually for.

    HD600 + Schiit Vali

Hi guys, I recently bought Hd600 and love it. Before I actually bought it, I actually did some research and read some threads about this headphones and people say some positive things about the HD600+Vali Combo. Thus, I'm planning to get one before the end of next week. But because I don't have...

    Headphones for Classical music

Thanks for the recommendation. I heard so many good reviews about 800. I just want to know if it sounds more towards 650 or to 600. I got a chance to hear both and I like the 650 better. It suits my preference more, which I mentioned in the very beginning. However, I hear people say that 800...

    Headphones for Classical music

Hi guys. So I did get a chance to hear both HD600 and 650. I personally liek the 650 better. Would HD800 be a good choice then? I really have no idea what 800 sounds like. But I am sure curious if it sounds more towards what 600 offers vs. 650.

    Headphones for Classical music

So would it fit my preferences?   -Very rich sound (especially bass, but still overall)   - No dry sound (live acoustic)   -Between Bright and dark sound (but a little more towards dark).   like somewhat more similar to HD600 than DT880?

    Headphones for Classical music

If 800 sounds similar to 880, I guess then that's not really for me? As far as I learned from this thread, I find that 880 sounds quite opposite to what my preferences are.

    Headphones for Classical music

Wow. Thanks for lots of answers guys. I've been carefully reading them all, and it seems like my soundcard/ lack of amp is really holding some things back. So I decided to break $500 limit and do whatever it takes to really get the sound I really need out of the combo. Many have mentioned HD600...

    Headphones for Classical music

Thanks for sharing guys. What is the actual difference between 600 and 650?   Again, this is my listening consideration..     -Very rich sound (especially bass, but still overall)   - No dry sound (live acoustic)   -Between Bright and dark sound (but a little more towards dark).  ...

The Ultimate HD600 vs HD650 Poll [CLOSED: HD600 Wins!]

I am trying to choose which one I should go with. However, I'm not really clarified in terms of differences besides "live sounding(?)".       For my classical music taste:   Very rich sound (especially bass, but still overall)   NO dry sound (live acoustic)   Between bright and dark...
