The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016
Hi, I've already asked on the dualboot thread but I take advantage of this activity to ask here this Rockbox related question: how can I add a cover view in Rockbox? I mean a Database view that let me go through my albums by sliding their covers.- Fingerling

O2 AMP + ODAC
OK but why? What happens if I try (I ask before because I don't want to move my Eltax for nothing)? So the RCA output are for active speakers only? Or as a tiny pre-amp (but what is the point?)?- Fingerling

Not strange at all: this is called "placebo". It's the dark side of audiophile lobby. Your justification by numbers only proves that in this forum there is a lot of people who like convince themselves that all elements of their environment can change the sound of their devices. Head-Fi is well...- Fingerling

Will a DAC improve sound quality by any significant margin?
I own myself a Musical Fidelity V-DAC and a M2tech Hiface, plus my iBasso DX50 which can be use as DAC. The DIY way seems a lot more wallet friendly, but there is generally no rigorous neophyte-friendly tutorial to build a USB interface-DAC. Example...- Fingerling

Will a DAC improve sound quality by any significant margin?
The wow a novelty effect. "Magni + Modi is the best combo!! Oh **** no there are crappy, buy a X1, bang for the buck! Wait no this is a ****y one, I've found the Gustard H10, it is sooo cool. OK, stop everybody: I've the Melodious Audio MX-U8, no need for another device, this is the best I ever...- Fingerling

Amp suggestion for DT 990 Pros (250ohm)
Hi, Also interested in a good pairing for my future DT-990. For now I run with PC > M2tech Hiface > Musical Fidelity V-DAC > Bowers & Wilkins P5 or PC > iBasso DX50 (DAC mode) > B&W P5, but the Hiface and V-DAC are moving from my desk and I prefer too keep my DX50 for a travelling solution.- Fingerling

Yup, good combo. And you certainly not need a portable amp with it. Low impedance headphone and very powerful DAP.- Fingerling

Hi, I have two questions: can I charge my DX50 (most of time with a 7200mAh battery inside) with a USB HTC AC adapter (output: 5V/1A)? Is the Magni 2 + Modi 2 combo worth the cost to drive a 250ohms headphone from a PC compared to a DX50 (DAC mode)? Thanks- Fingerling

Music sound opinion: SMSL SA-50 + V-DAC VS Yamaha AV receiver
OK. I ask for the DX50 because it produces a numeric signal and I have read that the AUX jack input of the amp only accept analog signal. I think the same about Thomann. I just didn't understand why people are soldering new cable while there is a Limited Edition with straight cable avalaible...- Fingerling

Thanks. The headphone jack of my DX50 was not welded properly, a solder joint was missing (not good, iBasso). I have solved the problem by soldering myself (don't want to pay shipping + fees for such a simple task).- Fingerling

Thanks for your time. This amp seems OK. Music sound opinion: SMSL SA-50 + V-DAC VS Yamaha AV receiver
Headphone surround will be use for gaming and watching Blu-ray movies via my PS3 or my PC. What is the interest in Silent Cinema if I preprocessed the headphone surround sound? Music (lossless) will be played on my PC (JRiver) or my iBasso DX50. If I stayed with the HTR-3067, that's how I...- Fingerling

Rockbox for iBasso DX50 dual boot with stock firmware
Hi, I look for a Rockbox theme for my DX50 with this features: the number of the track played (ex: 1/14), the battery level in percentage or number, same for the volume level, and the date and hour if possible. Any idea? Thanks in advance- Fingerling
