i have now come to relise what people meant when they said they could listen to these for hours..   i have never used my HP for such long periods in one go before, something just so "easy to listen to" about them   in other news: my MODI DAC just arrvied and will give that a run tonight :)

Just plugged in my new amp, little dot Mk3 to these   WOW, such an amazing difference   just ordered a Schiit MODI DAC too :)

Hahaha   well i just ordered a Modi, so ill judge for myself :)

Would the Modi be an upgrade to the DAC on the xonar essence STX (just the DAC, using an external amp)   ?

my first impression were   1) less airy . tighter, more controlled sound   2) felt like i can just listen and listen to the 650 (which i have) which is not something  i felt with the 598s

i was going to do that but not taken the 650 off since i got them :)   my  598 just gathering dust now

Thanks, looking at a Little dot mk III at the moment ...    i assume its easy to go from the sound card out to the amp ?

1st post on here.   Just got my HD650 (upgraded from 598s)   Im looking to upgrade my amp, currently using an STX sound card   Am i right that the DAC on it is pretty good and i can just get an Amp ?   Looking at a Schiit Magni or a Vali   Would this be a step up for me?
