Audeze LCD i4 TOTL In-Ear Monitor Discussion
Waiting on getting back my LCDi4 but... just want to report that the LCDi4 with Roon DSP set at 75% wet is incredible.- dharan

The Fiio X5 Thread
I don't have t51p's yet. Planning on getting them soon. The beyers have such great reviews, which is why I've got my mind set on them. One thing I've read by a few reviewers is that the mids are ever so slightly recessed. Do you find this is true with the X5 still?- dharan

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.
Yeah, that transformation process is a magical thing. First you think your ears/brain are deceiving you. Then you accept the glory of burn-in with a big smile on your face.- dharan

FiiO X5, haven't seen you in a while
Unless I'm completely missing it, I haven't seen anyone talk about the X5 in a while. Are people still using them? Is everyone still in love or has the honeymoon phase ended? I've read some frosty reviews elsewhere, but alas, it shall be my next purchase. I plan on getting one this year, can't...- dharan

FiiO E18 Review
It's kind of scary how good my HE-400's sound with the E12. I mean it's not up there with my desktop setup, but I feel like it gets 85% of the way there. Just great for sitting out on the front porch with some big ass cans on your head.- dharan

Sometimes you can get a pair of Grado 225i's on sale for $125. A great buy and maybe the best bet.- dharan

Amp or DAC for HD558?
For HD558's an amp and DAC are only going to make very marginal differences. Once you upgrade your can, then a DAC and amp will be more justifiable in price to upgrade ratio. On the other hand, if you have even a decent pair of speakers, I do notice an amp and DAC do make a difference.- dharan

Hey there! I'm new and am looking for some advice :)
You should try out audirvana if you're on Mac. You can use it by itself or with itunes in integrated mode. It isolates your DAC, making what you hear only the music traveling through your computer, to dac, to amp, to speakers. It's crazy but actually makes your music sound more analog.- dharan

Best Looking Portable
I'm sort of stealing this idea from the Full-size forum. But I think the Beyerdynamic T51p is the best looking portable I've seen so far. On the contrary, Sennheiser Momentums are too leather laden for my tastes, and as I mentioned once already, the stitching in the leather headband reminds me...- dharan

The BEST-LOOKING Headphones
I think the Beyerdynamic T51p's are the best portables I've seen so far. Some people don't like their look, but they're right on the money for me in terms of aesthetics. On the contrary, I find Sennheiser Momentums much too leather laden for my tastes. The stitching on the headband reminds me of...- dharan

The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread
Can some of you give your thoughts on how male vocals, guitar, and piano sound on these cans. Read one criticism stating that male vocals lack some heft or weight, though female vocals sound great. Then an in depth reviewer stated piano was plasticky sounding, guitar good but a little plastic...- dharan

The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread
That's a great explanation, Argyris, thank you. Do you find your Beyer's fatiguing after long periods of use (a good 2-4 hours of listening)? That seems to be the only other concern I have with them after reading some reviews.- dharan

The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread
Hi, very first post here (well, second now). I have read through the forums, and see a lot of people pointing out that the Grado SR 225i's are bright and so are the Beyer's. They seem to be thrown into the same category, perhaps for that reason alone. I'm getting the Beyer's first, a big...- dharan
