Mine has quite a bit of play at the connector but I can't tell whether it is moving internally. Initially I was concerned about this but it doesn' seem to be causing any problems with playback.

Loose in what way? Does the whole port wiggle or does your USB cable slide back and forth?

For what it's worth, I compared the Red USB output with a streamer with galvanic isolation and I could detect no difference. I think that the USB output on the Red is very good.

I got my Red to update as well (wasn't sure it would at first). It would be nice if we knew what the update contained, there seems to be no change log posted anywhere.

There is no volume difference between the three filter settings in the original Concero. I believe the 3dB difference you refer to has to do with the S/PDIF pass through. 

Absolutely! Having the choice of filters is great and I would never consider buying a DAC that did not offer a choice of filters. I am amazed that so many DACs still only offer the basic brick-wall FIR filter.

Yes, absolutely agree! I am thinking about upgrading from my Concero to an Ayre QB-9DSD but would love to stick with Resonessence. Give me a Mirus without the preamp features and I would buy in a heart beat.

You can only switch the filters if 1) you are playing a music file and 2) the music file is 44kS/s or 48kS/s.
