Sony h.ear on MDR-100AAP - $199 'Hi-Res Audio' Over-Ear Headphones
Has anyone tried these in noisy environments like the subway or an aeroplane? Isolation good? It's the one thing that I dislike about my 1A.- Jonamafun

Sony MDR-1A - Sony's latest update on the 1R
Re the isolation- I tried to use mine yesterday on a flight from Melbourne to Hk. I was at the back, the noisiest part of the plane, and I couldn't really use the 1A for tv/movie as the engine drone was too loud. Music was ok as I usually turn the volume up.- Jonamafun

Sony MDR-1A - Sony's latest update on the 1R
I'm loving the sound out of my 1A. I am hearing more details compared to my XBA4, and the bass is more defined and satisfying. Plays great out of my Xperia Z3 unamped. Will try it out soon with my microstreamer. Used it on my commute and whilst isolation could be better it's definitely not a...- Jonamafun

[ REVIEW / COMPARISON ] Two Flagships Pass in the Night: Sony XBA-4 Review VS the MDR-EX1000 [Updated with 7550 and XBA-40!]
Apologies for the noob question. I'm currently using USB Audio Player Pro on Android as my music player. How do I go about translating and applying Rin's suggested EQ to this app's EQ interface? Per the website, he suggests "a parametic equalization of -9 dB centered at 3.6 kHz with a...- Jonamafun

Sonic Satori - HRT Levels the Field with the MicroStreamer
So after struggling to get the uS going with my S3, I'm now using it instead with Galaxy Tab S and Sony XBA-4. Seemingly great combo. I got an email recently about the Fiio X1. Does anyone know how the X1 would fare against my current setup with the uS? For anyone interested, I also used the...- Jonamafun

Sonic Satori - HRT Levels the Field with the MicroStreamer
Having a bit of trouble using the microstreamer with my Android device. Previously, the uS was working my Samsung Galaxy S3 when it was running Android 4.1.2. Now that I have upgraded my phone to Android 4.3, I can't for the life of me get it to work. When I connect it the phone recognises...- Jonamafun

For anyone using this with Android - after listening to music, does disconnecting the cable crash your phone? My phone will hang and then reset.- Jonamafun

Why use usbaudio recorder app? It's a butt ugly app. I use Neutron player and it works well with the uS.- Jonamafun

Yeah I spent quite a while looking and the closest I found was that half a metre Lindy cable. Actually ordered it until I realised it was half a metre and cancelled the order. That Fiio cable actually doesn't look too bad.- Jonamafun

I lol-ed when I read this on the product page: 45 EUR for a USB cable certainly qualifies as a small fortune in my books.- Jonamafun

For listening on the go, I used the following cable combo - works well: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/171092328311 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/180712642227 For a total sum of $2.10, it seems to work well.- Jonamafun

A follow-up on my battery-eating woes with the uS. I purchased the following USB OTG splitter cable: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251357159991 Connecting the spare connector to a USB power source has alleviated the battery drain. The uS is now powered by the...- Jonamafun

I'm using a Samsung S3 4G, not iPhone. I also didn't check the standard 1.2 firmware because the website appeared to imply the NAS version was the low powered version. Then again it is a pretty terrible website!- Jonamafun

Sonic Satori - HRT Levels the Field with the MicroStreamer
So I upgraded my firmware from v1.1 to v1.2 NAS tonight. I noticed in the USBView the following line: MaxPower: 0x4B (150 Ma) now says: MaxPower: 0x31 (98 Ma) So here's hoping the battery drain is improved. A quick test with Neutron player indicates...- Jonamafun

Sonic Satori - HRT Levels the Field with the MicroStreamer
Funnily enough I just came on to this thread to ask how people are powering their microstreamers. I've got mine connected to my S3 4G and it is killing my battery. I think after a good 3-4 hours my phone's battery is just about emptied with the MS connected. Note that it seems to drain the...- Jonamafun

[ REVIEW / COMPARISON ] Two Flagships Pass in the Night: Sony XBA-4 Review VS the MDR-EX1000 [Updated with 7550 and XBA-40!]
Hi newbie here. Just joined and would like to say thanks for a great review and interesting reading! I recently got on to a deal here in Australia and snagged a set of XBA-4 for $80. My source is a Samsung S3 4G/LTE (i9305). I'm assuming it has the same DAC and output impedance as...- Jonamafun
