Ocharaku Flat-4 KAEDE (Maple)
Talking about tips, I have experimented with some models and brands. SQ: Supertips Foam (bassier, more clarity, more sibilance) >= Tx200s (less bass, bit muffled, hardly sibilant) > Tsx200s (muffled highs and spacing) Isolation: Supertips Foam>Tsx200s>Tx200s Comfort: Tx200s>Tsx200s>Supertips...- Tindersticks

The Astell & Kern AK240
Be the Ultimate Gaga Weird shape aside, It seems bulky and will probably look protruding from jeans or the inner pocket of suits. People who really care about portability now face another HM901 dilemma.- Tindersticks

Ocharaku Flat4-涛(NAMI) - TH-F4N
For Comply tips, i would suggest TS200 or T200, not TX series as TXs have wax guard in the hole that could mess up the mids and highs.- Tindersticks

Ocharaku Flat4-涛(NAMI) - TH-F4N
I just got this pair of jewels, which revives the dynamics of my music again. :) I have been enjoying Nami for 5 hours non stop and now feeling an urge to compare it with my Fitear 334. The initial impression did wow me, but still I will hold my urge and give it more time to run in.- Tindersticks

The New iRiver/Astell & Kern AK100: A High-End DAP
I did the test a few days ago. I had MKII's system folder replace mine. It was to no avail. SQ remained the same. If left me wondering how exactly the firmware update identifies MKII.- Tindersticks

I don't see much danger in doing it and don't mind giving it a shot. A kind MKII user said he would offer help, and I will be able to do the test by this weekend. Definitely I will share the file with you guys if my speculation is correct.- Tindersticks

The New iRiver/Astell & Kern AK100: A High-End DAP
I don't think so. That's why we need generous MKII users to share their system folder, and we copy it to our modded device to let the update installation recognize ours as MKIIs.- Tindersticks

The New iRiver/Astell & Kern AK100: A High-End DAP
I can read Chinese characters so it's easy for me to grasp what the iRiver JP official page is saying. Still, I provide the relevant links and translation if you need. From iRiver JP MK II Product page: 主な変更點 出力インピーダンスを3Ωに変更 (※通常のAK100は出力インピーダンス22Ω) AK100...- Tindersticks

The New iRiver/Astell & Kern AK100: A High-End DAP
Dear AK100 MK II users out there, I have a favor to ask from you. According to Iriver official, MK II firmware is specially tuned, and it is included in the SAME firmware file to download for regular AK100. On the official page, it says the file would automatically detect if the hardware is...- Tindersticks

The Fiio X5 Thread
OK, we've all seen the poster with 75% of the device disclosed. Now, here's the fully exposed one????? I saw it from a Chinese forum http://tieba.baidu.com/p/2711916685 He mentioned X5 is superior than X3 in transparency, details and resolution but with bass toned down by comparison. ...- Tindersticks

The New iRiver/Astell & Kern AK100: A High-End DAP
Is any AK100 MK II user out there willing to port the firmware? It is specially tuned and might suit RWAK100 as well since they both got the impedence lowered. I am desperate to try how it sounds on RWAK. Please!- Tindersticks

FitEar TO GO! & Universal Series --- Suyama's custom IEM, made universal!
Quote: Yes, it's 334-W6s from Tube Fan Studio. I love this cable for not only the sound, but its portability, extremely soft for a multi-wire silver cable. Pity that the overall tonality is more to the warm side, which is definitely enjoyable for extended listening but not for my case...- Tindersticks

FitEar TO GO! & Universal Series --- Suyama's custom IEM, made universal!
I'm too using the 99% silver and 1% gold and can hear what u described. However, a bit resolution is sacrificed, in a nice way, i think. Mine's made from Mundorf wire.- Tindersticks

The New iRiver/Astell & Kern AK100: A High-End DAP
Mine is the modded AK100 pairing with TG334. Under the official firmware 2.2, I really cannot tell the difference between ProEQ on and off. Just like what the official says, the modded AK100 might not max out the the effects of ProEQ. Any RWAK100 user hears a difference?- Tindersticks

Sennheiser IE80's Impressions Thread
Regarding the tape mod, I have experimented with bass knob set at min and max respectively. I am sure many people did it with min bass so I leave out this part. With max bass and tape on, I found myself immediately in love with how the sound was delivered. I can't get enough of it right...- Tindersticks

Sennheiser IE80's Impressions Thread
Quote: Comply tips pairing with IE80 does not sound good as it absorbs lots of mids and highs, which worsens the weakness of IE80. So far, I've found UE tips (see the below pic) provide excellent comfort and sounding, but isolation is something you have to sacrifice. They are not...- Tindersticks

The New iRiver/Astell & Kern AK100: A High-End DAP
Quote: As far as I know, besides RWAK, there's one offering the modding in Thai, and the other in HK. HK version costs around 130USD, nearly half the price, but I don't know if he does overseas shipping. And it's not that simple. You have to consider the bypassing cable they...- Tindersticks

The New iRiver/Astell & Kern AK100: A High-End DAP
I have a modded ak100 (someone in HK helped me with bypassibg the 22 om). Listrid 2.0 is too powerful for it. Even with EQ off, I can hear some distortion (pairing with IE80). Modded AK100 with official firmware delivers less aggresive and more natural sounds.- Tindersticks
