My friend has the E17 just to power his akg q701s ... I would image that combo would be great for the 598s.- SageTheWizard

Review by 'SageTheWizard' on item 'Audio-Technica AIR Dynamic Headphones ATH-AD900X'
Let me start be addressing the "le no base XD" ... No these cans are definitely not for bass heads by any means (so they could use a bit for for those who mainly listen to things such as dubstep or really bassy rap and what not) but these headphones can definitely produce nice, sharp and clean...- SageTheWizard

Audio Technica updates their open headphones "AD" Series: AD2000x, AD1000x, AD900x, AD700x and AD500x
Quote: I use a.... tan rubber band. I wonder if a hair tie would work equally as well. Quote: I ordered mine from Japan through Amazon. Cost 200USD.- SageTheWizard

MDR-XB920 or Sennheiser HD 518?
Quote: What this guy said. The Sennheiser hd518's are nice though. If you can get them for cheap you can't go wrong. My friend has a pair and loves them. My AD900x's spoiled me with their sweet soundstage so I would prefer the 518's to have a bit wider soundstage but that's just me.- SageTheWizard

Any openback headphones that sound slimar to A900X or better?
Why not use a rubberband on the A900x's? But I (along with a few others in this thread) recommend the DT990s- SageTheWizard

I want some good looking headphones.
Eh.. I know a guy with mutual friends as me who has them and my friends all say they don't sound all that great... They look neat though, I'll give them that. (Personally, I can't vouche for the sound quality though)- SageTheWizard

How many hours per day to you listen?
Depends on the day. If I wanna watch a movie or anime or something (this means I'll me on my laptop using speakers) probably only like 3 - 5 hours If I wanna chill on my desktop playing games, listening to music, skype, watching stupid youtube videos and whatever else I do it can be well...- SageTheWizard

Is there really even a difference between 192 and 320kbs?
Personally, at that close of a bitrate I would imagine you can't really tell a difference, I think it would just come down to size.... (Note: I did not compare anything of these two, look anything up or anything of that nature for this post. So if I'm wrong.. So be it.)- SageTheWizard

Razer Releases "Razer Surround"- "Personalized 7.1 Gaming Surround"
What I don't get is how do they emulate 7.1 on a pair of stereo headphones ;_; it just doesn't make sense. I couldn't tell you. I haven't used any of those... I'll ask the guy who used Razer 7.1 but I doubt he has...- SageTheWizard

Is there really even a difference between 192 and 320kbs?
If you're like using apple earbuds you won't notice a difference due to the fact that it will sound like butt in the first place. Though, if you have a nice set of headphones and dac + amp and all that, you will for sure hear the difference. You can tell the difference between flac and mp3 too...- SageTheWizard

Is it just me or the SteelSeries Siebra V2 are PRETTY good?
All (as in 3/4 of my friends I chat with about audio or tech in general with on a regular basis (the other has m50's)) have Siberia V2s. I dislike the bass and I like my sound stage supah dupah wide. For gaming they're not bad, not my favorite for music listening though. One thing you cannot...- SageTheWizard

Razer Releases "Razer Surround"- "Personalized 7.1 Gaming Surround"
Not a fan of Razer anything here. My friend tried it out and said it made everything sound funky (not like... it broke funky, but like it tried to make it sound good but completely and utterly failed.) I personally don't understand how they are trying to spawn 7.1 surround in a pair of stereo...- SageTheWizard

Constructive "Anti-Beats" headphone discussion
I don't blame Monster for releasing these overpriced headphones. I blame the people who purchase them thinking "Oh they are expensive, therefore they are better than everything cheaper". Monster is doing a great job at taking their stupidity to the bank. I suppose this is kinda what happens.. 1)...- SageTheWizard

Adjusting clamp force on Audio Technica AD700/900?
This. I would recommend a hair tie (I personally am using a rubberband and sometimes it pulls my hair). My ad900x's would slip down a bit and I wasn't having any of that.- SageTheWizard
