Why do you need to plug it in the car's USB, unless for charging? I tried doing this with the E17, too much work involved. Thus my current setup: Note 4 with wireless charging--> Poweramp --> HiFimeDIY Sabre Android DAC.

  Yep, it's perfectly set up.  Put it in the dock...plug in the DAC...Tasker will autoplay my music.

  That's how mine is set up in my car. Galaxy S4 on a wireless charging car dock --> HiFimeDIY Sabre Android DAC --> car amp.

  It is a little iffy, here's what I can restrict. Luckily, I don't use this player.

I briefly tried 4.4.2 TW + Magical Unicorn kernal and it works with the E17.

  I think anything plugged into the S4 will drain battery, regardless if it's ON or OFF.

Nothing wrong with the E17+S4, as that's the combo I have..along with the Sony XBA-2. I'm actually using this combo more in my car than with my earphones.
