I don't think so even the demo unit at the shop had the same volume wheel resistance...but no worries as mentioned at most 5-7 stops up and down on volume if you accidentally slide it...1 full slide just bumps up the volume to 2-3 steps. no way you'd hit max right away

  Well the design has it recessed slightly so that does offer some protection from sliding the volume. If ever you accidentally slide it I would say you won't hit max volume...at most 5-7 stops up or down in volume. The volume wheel is easy to move...very little resistance.

Haven't tried it yet...maybe after a few more hours playtime with the X5iii

+1 on the Fiio X5iii   I just got mine yesterday.   Amazing pariing with my A6 given the house sound of 64Audio...they pair well.

Same here...been using full sized headphones for years and was not really a fan of iems and the like because i didn't like the feeling of anything jammed into my ear and with the pressure buildup inside. ADEL tech is what really pushed me in trying 64audio....

Yeah but the modules now aren't all that hard to swap out...me and a friend switch modules easy.

Ok..so we will just have to wait where all this goes. I hope everything gets settled as I believe both companies offer outstanding products.

So older A and U models work with ADEL and APEX modules but newer ones won't? So what changed with the newer A or U models? Will the older models really benefit from the APEX if internally something has changed in the newer models to fully utilize the APEX?

How about TIA? Will this be the "bubble" of the future?

Must be the settings my friend hand his DPX1 during the time we tested it. Can you try it with the Mojo. He has a mojo but I think he he hasn't been able to make it output dsd via USB yet.   If it works for you what settings did you have.   Only iffy thing about the DPX1 is the 2.5mm balance...

Works fine with my Samsung S4 - S6 edge + via USB OTG using the same files via micro SD card   Phone outputs DSD (DoP) no problem and Hugo's light turns white meaning it reads DSD fine so I highly doubt that it's Hugo's fault.   

So as I'm going to leave my LCD 2.2 + Hugo + Liquid Carbon at home and have recently gotten myself a 64Audio A6 I'm in the market for a new DAP.    Currently using the Ibasso DX90 and I'm look for a DAP that can offer full DSD output to my Hugo if needed.    I tried the DPX1 and AK70 a few...

Finally after 2 months of waiting given my location I have my A6 and waited for my Norne Therium to be done. This is my first custom so I was relieved that I didn't have fitment issues.

Ok so you own custom A5s already...got confused if you just Auditioned them or own them as As would mean custom and U would be their universal models. Man maybe in the future ill order a U5 to see how it compares to my A6

Man I was wondering how the U5 sounded....how was it...although I ordered the A6 based on majority recommendations I would like to get your take on it...particularly on the highs
