+1 Have to agree with that, he's superstar in my eyes, he went completely beyond 'call of duty' once phoned me at home from half-way around the globe when I was deciding on whether to get a DX100 or not, his advice was invaluable, great guy.- Noble-Geezer

This must seem like a dream to you... no firmware updates, no endless re-tagging and you managed a chunk of burn-in, boy are you going to have a stress free flight... Edit... my ZX1 is in Paris, bloody thing has gone on a site-seeing tour Tokyo, Shanghai, Delhi...- Noble-Geezer

Some of the best advice I received was from Currawong, it's the sum if the parts that go to make a good rig it's not always the best gear that wins out, it is what suits your ears & how you want to hear your music that matters. Here's a good example... my new Sony F887 is a superb bit of...- Noble-Geezer

I daresay if you hang in the thread a while all will be revealed, Anak's already teasing us. Helps if you don't plagiarise the reviewers comments to suit your device, one wouldn't want to think the Author of the review was being lazy (yes I was gullible enough to check).- Noble-Geezer

Can't argue with that... compared my Z1070 to a AK120 and decided there was no improvement (to my ears), so decided to stick with Sony. For less than the price of a AK120 in the UK I got the F887, PHA-2 & ZX1.- Noble-Geezer

Keep an eye on your spam filter, I've had a few emails from Price-Japan end up in there. I bet they're well busy trying to get orders out, Mimo's got shipped yesterday.- Noble-Geezer

$2k USD (=£2k GBP) that's pretty outrageous, still best not to look the gift-horse in the mouth as it's probably waiting for the next firmware update. btw our ZX1's have shipped (FedEx), saying it's a Thursday delivery, as your a lot nearer you should get yours before you go.- Noble-Geezer

ahaa assuming the budget price(sic) is $1500, that'll equate to £1500 in the UK (AK dealers like to milk the cash cow over here). You could buy three ZX1's for that money, small point if you're worried about memory space and you're not up for swapping the odd album between devices.- Noble-Geezer

Another man's ears are not your ears so I figure the only way you going to find out is to invest in one, we look forward to your thoughts. This 'cheap' sexy looking Walkman Hi-Res/DSD DAP certainly appears to be drawing the interest of owners of more exotic equipment, guess Sony must be...- Noble-Geezer

ok I think it's dawning on me from where your coming from (I think), would I be right in thinking an analogy like a cassette player wheel-noise at low volume, that used to drive me up the wall with that incessant wheel turning rub noise(?), it would go faster or slower depending how far into...- Noble-Geezer

Soon as I get the ZX1 I'll tick both the DSEE & DN boxes and that'll be it for me (it's how I like to roll), I only use Clear-Bass for certain albums where I want & enjoy serious bass impact at full volume. I wouldn't call me a 'audiophile' as I can't stand neutrally based systems that have...- Noble-Geezer

Mimo, I intend to be using it to connect to a Hi-Fi via a DAC for the main, I'm also going to have a bit of fun to see if can be used with my Plantronic USB headphones that I use for Skype, the mids on those is pretty excellent imo but you'd expect that with Plantronics being aimed more at...- Noble-Geezer

You keep going on in threads about this 'tac' thingy, I have never heard anything in the background on any of my Walkman's, silent at full volume or playing. I do get a bit of microphone 'air' on older recordings but that disappears when the music starts or the vocals kick in.- Noble-Geezer

I'm seriously rethinking about buying another WM-Z, love that Sony it has a touch of warmth that I love & miss. I'll let you know in 3-4days, in truth I don't expect much difference if any. Quote: I wouldn't bother with Clear Audio or Sound Surround it brings nothing to...- Noble-Geezer
