    Definitive technology (DefTech) symphony 1

I have done a bit of EQ with them and they do EQ very easily though the result does vary depending on what software you are using to EQ them. Using viper4android and viper4windows they EQ'd really well; bass could be boosted without sounding muddy or boomy. They didn't respond as well when...

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

All good. I know about this because of past experience. I spent ages looking for parts for my RS220 on the Australian and US websites after it got discontinued and couldn't find anything (and I had no idea what the product codes were either). Randomly gave the UK website a go and found it...

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

Did you check the UK website like I suggested? Found it first go. The US spare parts website is very clumsy and I've never found the right parts on there without part numbers which you can get from the UK website quite easily. Don't know about costs of shipping but they do ship overseas if...

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

You should be able to. If it is possible it will be on the Sennheiser website in the spare parts. The UK website is probably easier to navigate if you are having trouble finding it on the US website.

It looks like a polar opposite of the Symphony 1. I'm sure you'll love it.

    Sennheiser RS 165, RS 175, RS 185, RS 195 - Impressions thread

The RS180 and RS185 will be a lot less clammy because they are open back. I think the older generation clamped a lot less too. It might be hard to get one now (and expensive) but if you can get an RS220 they will easily be the most comfortable of all the RS series headphones. Larger ear cups...

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

@ryugen the Momentum Wireless is not really meant to be used in that way. The microphone is mainly designed to be used as a bluetooth headset like if you are listening to music over bluetooth on your phone and a call comes. It works in USB mode as well but it doesn't work with the cable when it...

Huge Comparison of [almost] all the Best Bluetooth Headphones - post your own comparisons here

It doesn't surprise me that for AAC files the AAC codec can sound better if it is being transmitted to the headphones directly without having to be compressed. Aptx is a better compression technology but it doesn't say it performs as if the file is uncompressed. Though I don't know if a Mac is...

Huge Comparison of [almost] all the Best Bluetooth Headphones - post your own comparisons here

The Sennheiser Momentum Wireless appears to be your best bet since you like the sound of the Logitech UE9000. Won't be an exact match but the bass respose will be the closest to the UE9000. The Def Tech Symphony 1 is a great sounding can but if you like a really strong bass response for EDM...

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

Ah that is right. Did you buy the iPhone cable version? I'm not sure about that cable but it is easy enough to check. Take the cable out of the headphones (unlock then remove) then check both ends. If they are the same size it is a standard 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack. If one end is smaller than the...

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

I don't think you need the lock but the Momentum wireles uses a 2.5mm jack so a standard 3.5mm cable won't work. Any cable which has 2.5mm jack on one end and 3.5mm jhack on the other end should technically work, though it the connection may not be as stable as with the lock.

Lol I went through the same thing. Tried as many cheaper ones as I could hoping could save my wallet. Didn't work. Settled on the Symphony 1 and haven't looked back. My bank account did take its time to recover though haha.

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

In M2 wireless the sound is only compressed if using it in bluetooth mode. If using powered on (active) over USB or aux cable the sound is not compressed. Same for passive mode. Theres no guarantee the battery will need to be replaced after a few years. Sometimes the batteries can last for...

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

Thats not exactly what I said but you may well be right on that in the sense that if you try all of them that is the order you will end up. My order was slightly different to what you recapped. The first bit "Wired M2 are near the same M2 wireless" I don't know if that is true as I never...

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

I haven't tried the M2 wired but I did try the original Momentum and sound wise I would go M2 wireless USB > M2 wireless powered > M1 wired >>> M2 wireless passive. The only way to really confirm if it would be ok for you is to try it yourself but I felt that the wireless model passively was...

Huge Comparison of [almost] all the Best Bluetooth Headphones - post your own comparisons here

Haha that can be fixed next payday.       Have you tried the Symphony 1 yet? They lack bass a little when the ANC is turned off though the effect of the ANC is really mild on the ears. You basically can't feel it after a few seconds and even that only really the first time you use them...

Is there anything holding you back from giving the Symphony 1 a go until now (other than the price)?

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

The Momentum Wireless works quite well on Android phones but OTG doesn't work the way you tried. You can't connect an OTG cable to the headphones. Headphones don't support OTG, phones do. With an Android phone you need to connect the OTG adapter to the phone and then connect a regular data...

Have you considered the Denon AH GC20? I'm not sure if you will dig the looks and I'm not too sure how they sound but they seem to fit all your criteria. Can't think of anything else that matches everything aside from the Zik which you have already mentioned and it's not really over ear.

    Definitive technology (DefTech) symphony 1

Thanks. The Symphony 1's are definitely bigger than them. Not completely round but their width isn't that much shorter than its height. External dimemsions are 4.2'' x 3.5'' and the internal dimensions are about 2.5'' x x 2''. Reasonably deep too.

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

Fair enough. I always think it's handy to have the option if the bluetooth model basically sounds the same as the wired model when run wired.

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

No problem. Also if you want bluetooth headphones with ANC check out the Definitive Technology Symphony 1. They also have a very balanced and neutral sound profile though they are a little warmer and less analytical than the AKG's. Turning on the ANC does tend to give a slight bass boost as well.
  23. n00b2

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

If you think you would like the AKG's you listed you should consider getting the AKG K845BT. They basically have the same sound profile as the K545, a little bit of a bass boost compared to the K550 but it is as close to a studio bluetooth headphone as you will get. Basically sounds exactly...

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

There are quite a few bluetooth headphones that do compete and better the Momentum wireless on all those counts. Sound quality really comes down to personal preferences when it comes to a certain level. A lot of people on Head-Fi do prefer the sound of headphones such as the Sony 1RBT/1ABT...

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

The main issues were related to problems with the reliability of the bluetooth connection and, to a lesser extent issues with the noise cancelling not working properly and not being able to be turned off in wireless mode. The wired model doesn't have either of those features (obviously cannot...
