Currently, for gaming, I turn it on to 8 channels, 48 sample rate, and headphone settings. I check Dolby Headphone, and leave 7.1 speaker shift off. I change it to 2 channels for music. Can anyone confirm if this is a good setup?

Thanks for the reply. Whenever I switch to an audio channel greater than 2 channels, I don't hear any sounds.   Edit: Fixed, restarted computer. What's GX mode, and which do I use Virtual 7.1 or DolbyHeadphones?

I recently bought a pair of AD700 and a Xonar DG sound card for FPS gaming. I would like to know what are the best settings to use with the DG in order to hear and identify footsteps. I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask, but I think it's the closest. Any help would be useful. :)

I'm going to be using these for gaming (csgo, ns2, rising storm, mostly fps games). I heard the sound stage is better on the AD700? Plus, I'm not a huge basshead. Ugh, so many choices. I always think the more expensive item is better, but thinking like that has many problems and exceptions.

I might get the Audio Technicas ATH-AD700 after I return these. Hope my Xonar DG can power those babies.
