DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread
Does anyone know where to get the cable connector for sennheiser HD 530s? The one I bought from ebay only fit HD 540s. HD 540s and 530s use the same connector type but HD 540s have bigger, shallower entrance.- greyhamster

Best Headphone for classical and jazz music, budget of $800.
- good speaker amp: go for HE5/ HE6 - sennheiser HD 540/530/565/560/HD600 + bottlehead crack or equally good amp. Beyerdynamic T1 ($600 used) + crack ($300) is a great combo if you can stretch your budget. - audio technnica W5000- greyhamster

IHIF I770C/ Hifiman HM-700 or Fiio X1
Hi, I'm looking for a sub $100-$150 DAP with the ability to play cue, 16/48 flac, has good sound quality and a decent battery life. My headphone is audio technnica A900x. I mostly listen to jazz. I can't decide among these IHIF I770C/ Hifiman HM-700/Fiio X1. I'm open to other suggestion...- greyhamster

Help me decide on a desktop setup?
I could be wrong about the firefly, but these orthos need a lot of power to really shine!- greyhamster

Help me decide on a desktop setup?
Of course not, but it is a more logical assumption I don't have a firefly either but I do own a HE560. I find that all my speaker amps sound better than my EHHA and beta22 when pairing with the HE560.- greyhamster

Help me decide on a desktop setup?
The new amp to pair with them (EF1000s) are massive, so they must be another power hunger can like HE6s. Also I don't think the firefly can drive the HE560s properly.- greyhamster

Will the ATH-AD900X be fine for me (for gaming, music, movies)?
The soundstage is atually very good. However they don't have the 'focus' that is in closed headphones or other opened headphones such as HD650s. Moving from M50x you will be disappointed. Within your price range the only pair I think that will work for you is Denon D2000 ($200-$250). If you want...- greyhamster

Crack;Bottlehead OTL
First, bottlehead offers assembling services which will cost you about $200 for the crack. To save some buck I recommend you to take a look at the for sale forums http://www.head-fi.org/f/6551/amplification-for-sale-trade Second, the difference is indeed massive, at least that's what I heard...- greyhamster
