I also had a chance to listen to the auralic vega few months ago and I was entirely impressed. The DA8 isn't too far from it either, da8 is a bit warmer compared to the vega but that vega has some amazing extensions.

the 800 shares the same amp as the 600, so basically the 800 just has a built-in-dac. The amp is disappointing. If anything you're better off going with the 600 and adding a dedicated dac for it. But the 600 nor the 800 would be my choice. Who knows, you might feel different about em, if I were...

Unfortunately sennheisers hdva doesn't live up to all the hype, in comparison to the DA8 the hdva600 is quite pathetic really.

Try the da8 alone first, I think you'll be quite happy with the built in amp using the HD650. You might want to consider getting a dedicated amp for the da8 when you opt for a different pair of headphones. Congrats on the purchase, if you had the D18, you'll love the DA8.

Nice, the sound from S3X-V is just unreal. I honestly didn't think the whole 3 speaker design wouldn't make THAT much of a difference but man do they sing! I currently have the latest Genelec 8030bpm, absolutely amazing monitors for its size. I literally have the volume pot on the front at 1-3%.

I like the slow filter more for both headphones as well as speakers. I recently got a pair of Genelec monitors and absolutely love em using the DA8, the sound is jaw-dropping. My HE-6 has been collecting dust since the Genelecs came :(

Maybe because it could possibly aid others who have no idea how it is suppose to sound or what sort of effect it was intended for, or if they're even doing proper adjustments. I didn't realize it was a crime to share and compare with another user's setting that could yield a 'that setting sounds...
