Are these any good for rock/heavy metal?

Do you prefer the er6i's for the sound details or comfort? How do they compare comfort-wise? Do the UM1's have more bass than ER6i's? I like to have a "feel" for the bass.

Comfort is a major selling point for me. That's what most people seem to praise the UM1/2 for. I dig the anti-microphics design. As for the sound, I've heard that's it's dull and "muddy". Is there any bass on these? Is the sound boring?

Bump, what's wrong with the FX66's?

IEM shopping is so confusing :S I don't understand the audiophile lingo, but I have read that the UM1s sound "boring". I hear that they are also very comfortable, which is my main concern for in-ears. Do the UM1's have very much bass?

I'm getting sick of shopping for headphones I think this trio will suit me right. As of now I only own Apple buds, and Sennheiser MX400s (from eBay... I think they're knock offs). Earphone Solutions seem to be a respectable online retailer, and I'll be getting my UM1's from them. But...

Are the WestOne's THAT confortable. They look kind of bulky. I'm strongly considering the UM1's since reading so much good things about them the past couple says. I swear, during the past week I changed my mind at least five times thinking I found "the pair". Super.fi 5's... then q-jays...

Thanks for all the suggestions. I never really considered the UM1's until reading this thread (UM2 are out of my budget). I had no idea they would be comfortable lying on my side. It's also good to see the Marshmallows get a mention. As of now I'm considering the HA-FX66 and PX100 combo...

If I'm going to get in-ears, I'd like a pair that I can lay down on my side without disturbance. Is this practical?

After reading this thread I feel obligated to buy these. I've had them in mind for a while, and as of now I'm stuck with just a pair of ear buds. I'm think I'm going to order the Q-Jays and the PX-100

Just out of curiosity... has anyone ever had a pair of post $100 headphones and had the cable snap/wear overtime. I really want the q-jays but their service is too sketchy.

I was wondering if very many companies will let you send in your buds to be repaired if the cords snap. I've always had cheap headphones... so if the wire breaks, no big deal. But I'm in the market now for something that sounds good My main concern is the repair service for my unlucky trend...
