I went towards Rockna WL DAC due to the HQP setup & usability hassle, hope they improve the usability. Heard HQP is easier setup with Roon and also for PCM OS, a commodity laptop like even i5 can handle it, DSD OS may need more juice but PCM OS is a good starting point

Thanks @alekc for the research you did for EDM/Bollywood/Pop music genre. I agree with you that when someone say a particular DAC is good then it depends on the song genre as well and the fit of the DAC to align with the genre. This setup may give more oomph to some of the dance songs I guess.

As far as I know, Roon is the easiest route to take to use HQp as it has a setting to add HQp. Agree with Goldenone EDIT: On OS to higher rates, I found PCM 768Khz HQp OS with Holo May NOS setting is more than adequate to have a great experience, PCM OS can be achieved in a commodity PC...

My humble take, May should be noticeably better than Spring so please stick with May. Within May, while KTE is the best , L2 is the sweet spot and many people go with sweet spot in a purchase whether it is audio or say, in a car trim
