V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.
As far as the cable goes, I ended up getting the Fiio RC-MH1 cable which is fairly solid, decent build quality. The M-100 is fairly efficient to run without an amp on many devices, however they come to life that much more with an amp. I use a Fiio E17, E09K for the desktop, and an E12 tethered...- Wasatchsummits

The Fiio X5 Thread
Haven't checked to see if anyone else replied to this, but I use that combination and the sound is great. Cable is just the right length, decent quality, a bit more stiff than the speakeasy cables.- Wasatchsummits

V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.
Thanks for posting this. I've got the Fiio cable which I use mainly on the M-100 set I've got, and the quality/construction is decent, though the earpiece connector is long, sometimes rubbing my shoulder. These have that issue at all? From the pics it looks like they aren't as long as the...- Wasatchsummits

V-MODA XS - V-MODA M-80s upgraded - Pictures and more! [Discussion, Questions] #FirstthreadtocoverXS
I ordered a "verified like new" crossfade LP from V-moda's website, originally planning to swap out the ear pad/driver housing on my M-100's due to liking the gunmetal finish on those rather than the matte black. (found this wouldn't fly due to the drivers being glued into the supports) ...- Wasatchsummits

V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.
If you demo the M-100's, make sure you are using your own source. At one of the Brookstones here in UT they had the M-100 on a display connected to the main source, on that display. They sounded horrible... I asked about using even just me phone and the Brookstone staff declined. I knew after...- Wasatchsummits

V-MODA XS: A first look at the new V-MODA XS with Val Kolton - Head-Fi TV
I ordered directly from V-moda, with the additional shields they throw in when ordering. Looks like the color section is white or matte black right now, and several options for the shield color. I used the free shipping option which happened to be USPS Priority mail. They shipped in a couple...- Wasatchsummits

Nice couples - Show Me Your "On the Go Headphones"
Here are my two most recent on the go headphones, when I don't have IEM's handy. The new V-Moda XS and the M-100. The new XS is about as portable as it gets for an on-ear, IMO. The M-100 surely isn't far behind.- Wasatchsummits

V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.
They were released about three days back. Got mine today, here are the XS and the M-100 for a size comparison. XS are quite balanced sounding compared to the M-100, but the bass extends down low, without a lot of emphasis that the M-100 has. Treble and mid's are perfect.- Wasatchsummits

V-MODA XS: A first look at the new V-MODA XS with Val Kolton - Head-Fi TV
After listening to these the description of being "more balanced" certainly holds true. They really sound good out of the e17/e09k combo I've got here. Sure, these don't have as much bass presence as their M-100 counterpart but the bass is clean and controlled, and really extends down there well...- Wasatchsummits

Sweet, after following the thread and checking out the vid, I ordered the matte black and gunmetal shields to match my M-100's. Glad this launched today! Can't wait to have them in hand.- Wasatchsummits

V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.
Got these a couple weeks back. After reading about them here, I'll agree and say the are some fun sounding phones. The fun sound and ability to mod them really is what I was after, color schemes, ear pads, different cables, ..etc. They sound pretty damned good for a fun phone... if they had a...- Wasatchsummits

As far as comfort, these seem alright unless your head is larger. The clamping tension is there and will make it's presence known, though I've worn these for several hours at a time and haven't noticed discomfort. I also own several of the Beyerdynamic DT series, and while their comfort level...- Wasatchsummits

Order them now. You won't be disappointed, based on what you've said. Very cool, fun set of phones. I've listened to the majority of the phones you've listed and this one will suit you the best, IMO.- Wasatchsummits

AKG new headphone K545?
I own both the K545 and the M100. Expect more clarity, a more expansive soundstage, more mids and detail over the majority of the spectrum. Instrument separation is a step up as well. Bass is slightly less abundant, and the focus is on the sub-bass region. Compared to the v-shaped fun sound of...- Wasatchsummits

AKG new headphone K545?
I've contemplated getting an x3, good to know that! Just got the E09K (went ahead and ordered it last week) in tonight and fired it up with the E17 in place... damn damn damn! These phones sound good with that combo. They sounded really good with the E17, however out of this E09K there is...- Wasatchsummits

AKG new headphone K545?
I believe that is the case, I haven't seen the non-magnolia stores stock them. Dweaver, thanks for the recommendation on that amp. This E17 seems to power these just fine. Can't get over the sound out of these... Seems like I've read of lot of concerns about these being a little light on...- Wasatchsummits

AKG new headphone K545?
Newb here... I just picked these up several days ago and have a hard time putting them down, just the right sound! I recently picked up the JVC HA-S500 and while they sound really good for their price range, I found them really closed in and an almost in-your-face type sound stage, which led me...- Wasatchsummits

The JVC HA-S500 thread.
Went back and re-checked the noise out of the E17, doesn't seem to be happening now. Odd. The only time I get any noise is if the volume is cranked without any playback. With all the burn-in banter aside, does the soundstage on these open up a bit after say, 100 hours? Curious... Otherwise...- Wasatchsummits

The JVC HA-S500 thread.
I just got mine in the mail today and noticed this noise, almost sounds like gsm signal interference as well, and they are new. I've got a Mac Mini with a Fiio E17 run via usb, using the dac, and the noise is there with the E17. When I connect them to the iPhone 5s, the noise is gone. Weird...- Wasatchsummits

Best Workout Headphones under 100
I use the Nocs NS400 Titanium while on my mountain bike, hiking, climbing, running, skiing... etc. They don't fall out and sound really good. They have a remote on the right which controls most IOS devices, which for me comes in handy. Pretty tough, for the most part. No issues yet, lots of...- Wasatchsummits

jbl Synchros S200
These are 10mm dynamics. 10hz - 22kHz, 108 db spl. I have a set which I got when they launched several months back. I bought them on the premise that I could count on JBL's decent reputation for professional and consumer grade loudspeakers. All three of the sound systems in my house are...- Wasatchsummits
