Audeze Mobius Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV
No more headphone purchases this year! - I said last week. Of course I immediately singed up for a Mobius after I read the announcement and the impressions by Mad Lust Envy. Really looking forward to get my hands on them ;)- Happy Hamlet

Sennheiser's new dynamic flagship?

PONO - Neil Youngs portable hi-res music player
I have the HD580, which is the predecessor of the HD600. Balanced mode on the Pono makes a big difference with these cans, the headphone really comes alive. I use the 'cheap' cable from custom cans.- Happy Hamlet

Audeze SINE Series
Hmm, this is tough to trouble shoot over the internet. I reach significantly higher volumes with the cipher cable compared to the analog one - maybe you can check if this is true for you as well.- Happy Hamlet

Audeze SINE Series
I don't have Tidal, I tested the built in music app, Vox, foobar (all playing local files) and Google Play Music (streaming) and the volumes were very similar (also on iOS10). Maybe our ears simply have a different threshold for volume. Do your friends or family also think the volume is too low?- Happy Hamlet

Audeze SINE Series
I just played Shy Boy and Piece by Piece by Katie Melua on my European iPhone 6s (the only songs on your list I have). I find about 3/4 listening volume fairly loud, and full volume painful. Does anyone know if the digital out is even limited on European phones?- Happy Hamlet

The AKG K7XX Massdrop First Edition Thread
Same here, I hated the K701s (I still keep them around to remind me to never buy a headphone based on hype alone - alas this did not really work ). The AKG K7XX are fine headphones and a good deal for the price (and also a lot more comfortable than the original K701s).- Happy Hamlet

Sennheiser HD800S Unveiled!
If the HD800S is a similar improvement over the HD800 as the Beyerdyamic T1v2 is over the original T1, then I will not be able to resist.- Happy Hamlet

Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!
I purchased my Momentum Wireless set several month ago. I knew there was something wonky with the BT connection, but I thought I would use them exclusively indoors so I did not bother to send them in. I changed my mind last week, contacted the support here in Switzerland and got a replacement...- Happy Hamlet

New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)
I have been using the T1 v2 for two weeks now and I am very pleased with them. I never quite liked the previous version, the treble was too hot and it was lacking a bit of visceral impact on the low end. The changes between the two versions have been described as subtle by some. I can't say this...- Happy Hamlet

Audeze LCD-4
The price development in the headphone field is indeed a bit strange, IMO. Current best prices in Switzerland: Audeze entry level headphone (EL-8): 890 USD Beyerdynamic T1 v2 (flagship): 770 USD Anyway, I am very curious to test the LCD4. As it is build-to-order, this might be a...- Happy Hamlet

Sony's New 2014 flagship IEM - XBA Z5
So I guess I can forget about Sony ever releasing the XBA Z5 here in Switzerland . Too bad, I really wanted to test them out with the balanced cable on my Pono.- Happy Hamlet

Reply to review by 'happy hamlet' on item 'Philips Fidelio L2'
Very nice review. I think the L2 is an excellent headphone and in my opinion punches way above it's price class. I think it beats the entire AKG lineup (I have not heard the AKG812). Phillips is indeed on a roll, although the M1MKII is not quite as impressive.- Happy Hamlet

Audeze EL-8: The EL-8 is a must-hear at CES 2015
I obtained the EL-8 this morning from a authorized dealer in Switzerland. I am surprised they are not readily available in the US. But then again, we have the 'privilege' of paying 200 bucks extra compared to the price in the States - this is par for the course for Audeze headphones.- Happy Hamlet

Audeze EL-8: The EL-8 is a must-hear at CES 2015
I may be in the minority but I think this is not a very pretty headphone in the posted pictures and it looks even worse on Jude's head in the video (who generally had a good head for headphones). I had to chuckle a bit as Jude was going on and on about the styling. Fortunately, I don't really...- Happy Hamlet

Cayin N6 DAP: Dual PCM1792 / Dual Mono / 24-192 / DSD128 / SACD ISO
This player sounds very interesting, I particularly like the idea of playing SACD ISO files. However, after watching the Youtube video and listening to that awful tune, I fear this player will musakify all my songs ;)- Happy Hamlet

FiiO X7 | DXD | DSD | 384K/64B | ESS9018+ Android | WiFi | Bluetooth | 4 AMP modules | Balanced Out |
Probably a minority request, but I really liked the fairly complex cable remotes that were included with the iAudio M3 and the iRiver iHP-140. You could access all relevant functions and to some more complex stuff like skipping folders with long presses etc. For some reason these type of remotes...- Happy Hamlet
