Where can one buy genuine replacement pads for the T1.2 in the US? The one place that comes up with actual Beyer pads when I search is in Europe.

It's ~6K and ~9.2K (probably just my variation of the ~8K spike) being affected by vertical and horizontal placement, respectively.

It doesn't have nearly the 6K spike of the HD800, but it's there. Or perhaps a more accurate description is it has relative dips at 5K and 7K, which cause a perceived spike at 6K, I don't know. It's also quite possible it's my ears, driver variability, or that I'm simply misremembering where I...

The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread

I've also noticed that placement of the headphones on the head makes a huge difference with the level of treble one hears, most likely an unfortunate side-effect of the angled driver. When I first got mine I was wearing them too low and too far back. I found that the vertical and horizontal...

Are there any established/definitive damping mods for the T1 (specifically 2nd gen)?

The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread

Just got these on xmas, running them through my crack w/speedball. I couldn't figure out why sometimes the treble on certain songs would spank my ears, and other times not so much. Then I happened to be running a sine wave at different frequencies and realized that there is a huge difference...

broke headphone plug on dt880s, what to replace with?

hmm, not locking, but how about this? Furutech FT-763.   or the version with carbon fiber, but I wouldn't get that unless the CF was for more than just looks.

broke headphone plug on dt880s, what to replace with?

managed to snag my headphone cord as I tried to run to the door to get my pizza and snapped the 1/4 plug on my DT880s.  Yep.  Anyways, I'm good for the soldering, just wondering if there's a particular replacement I should be grabbing.

sub $200 USB DAC to go with DT800/600s and Crack amp

Good find.  How does the II+ compare to the ODAC?  Is it worth the extra $45-55*?  I could only find comparisons between the ODAC and the non-plus version, which seemed to favor the ODAC.         *vs ODAC w/RCAs

sub $200 USB DAC to go with DT800/600s and Crack amp

Hello all,   Just finished my Crack + Speedball, which is sounding great with my DT880/600s, and now I want to pick up a USB DAC so I don't have to go through my soundcard.  I'm looking at picking up a revB ODAC but not sure if there might be a better choice under $200 (or at least close to...

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

As far as modeling clay is this fine?   http://www.amazon.com/Prang-Modeling-Colored-Blocks-Pounds/dp/B001AYYBEG/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1321406929&sr=8-9   I'm going to order a pair of the shure pads and figured I might as well get the clay too so I get the free shipping.     edit...

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

So far all I have done with mine is tape the stock pads to the cans to give them a proper seal and prevent them from slipping off the cans when I stuff the pads themselves, and I've stuffed a ~1 1/4 inch thick strip of fleece in both pads.  The strip overlaps itself for most of the back side of...

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

My T50RPs arrived today just as I was leaving for work.  Quickly took them out and I can already foresee me wanting to replace the stock earpads.  For now, though,  I want to see what I can do with 'em.  I picked up some upholstery velvet (noticeably thicker than some of the other velvets I saw)...

Trying to find the best sound card for both music that also does well with games

Alright thanks.  I think I'll just wait and see what these two cards are.   Quote:   I forget which review it was but I remember reading the xonar's behaved a little oddly on some games.  I think they were (relatively) older games but as gaming is huge for me that scared me a little...

well at least they weren't kidding when they said it was dense, lol. Anyways, thanks for taking the hit and trying it out.  Now..any chance you want to mail me (enough of) your homemade putty? =)   or if you told me what you did I could probably make some on my own.   Quote:

Trying to find the best sound card for both music that also does well with games

Interesting, that I didn't know.  Are either or both of these supposed to be audiophile oriented?  If they are I'll probably wait.  An improved titanium hd (ish) card w/a molex connector to take power direct from PSU would be awesome.   Quote:

I wonder what, and how much modification is required to get the velour pads to work.  I like the velour pads on my dt880s, almost tempted to buy a pair and give it a shot. Rather not have to tear them up to get them to work though.   Quote: I wonder if i could take an old pair of...

has anyone tried damplifier pro, as opposed to dynamat xtreme?  It's significantly denser/heavier but only a bit thicker.  One of my friends is a car audio buff and says it is better.  General search of car audio forums seems to agree.

yeah that's the one.  Sorry I didn't post it.  I couldn't remember the name and I was posting from my phone while out with a client and didn't have the time to search it out.  Did you end up going with the "Extra" or the "Plus"?  Either way, let me know how it performs as if it works out well...

Good to hear. Kryston heavy metal extra or heavy metal plus would be a good putty to look at. Only found one place in the us that carries it though. Supposed to be a particularly heavy tungsten putty.

Have you opened them up since initially doing the mod?  Are you not having any problems with the putty sagging/sliding?  I fear being a putty and also of (relatively) high weight that it would slowly succumb to gravity.   Quote:
