The Watercooler -- Impressions, philosophical discussion and general banter. Index on first page. All welcome.
Most likely the Koss Porta Pro or the Koss KPH40 that I find slightly better. Porta Pro launched in 1984 and is still selling.- Leonarfd

Agree there, my favorite single DD for warm organic sound. When I got it I wrote down in my impression: sounds like a Penon Serial with better highs and tighter bass, but still retain the more musical and analog side I love in the Serial. This is with a harder wood, some changes if you get one...- Leonarfd

Doubt it on Volare, I bet it's awesome. But not sure it will give me something extra beside what Mega5EST and Ascension does. The fatuige is why the video been delayed 😅- Leonarfd

The Cadenza4 surprised me alot, must be one of the most refined neutral sets under $300. Didn't expect to enjoy it this much, being a warm tuning lover. But it has just enough warmth to balance the vocal presence, making it excellent for female vocals. Be it K-pop, K-pop or western artists like...- Leonarfd

For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?
Letshuoer Cadenza4 + HIBY R8 II Need a little bass boost on the IEM to sound good for doom metal, while stock tuning sound clean and good on CD 2 it's better with a lil extra. Finnish doom metal group, this album is quite ambitious. CD1 is more doom metal and agressive, CD2 goes more into a...- Leonarfd

On CD 2 you get Classical Version, so no metal. Changed to my new VE SM Gold earbud for this.- Leonarfd

Can try and compare in some days after some burn in, but for now : SM is thinner sounding and lack the clarity and fullness of the SM Gold. They are in different leagues imo.- Leonarfd

VE SM Gold - Very impressed from the first session. Same shell as the original VE SM and Asura 3.0 FE, so quite small and ergonomic. Cable look the same as the Asura 3.0 FE without the sleeve under the splitter, in a way better as its more pliable without the sleeve. For sound impression it is...- Leonarfd

634EARS: Impressions, Discussions, and Appreciations Thread
Congratulations 🎉 well worth it. IMO Miroak-II is especially good for the cost when we think about it being a boutique brand with such good quality, and tuning is so good 👌 You don't say, checking in everyday on his instagram. And get a little disappointed when his new post is not my unit 🤣- Leonarfd

New special earbud arrived today, Venture Electronics SM Gold - Very impressed from the first session. It is balanced and full sounding with very good midrange clarity, really like female vocals on this one. Also not overly bright or shouty, just clear and transparent. With tired evenings I...- Leonarfd

Reply to review by 'Leonarfd' on item 'Oriveti OH700VB'
@joydivisionnewdawnfades Never tried SR8, but the DTE900 is more resolving and have a more energetic tonality. With bigger bass and thicker mids than the OH700VB.- Leonarfd

Been using it with either 1110 or 1000 depending on mood, but yeah removing some bass with switches does help on clarity. Right now listening with 1000 and some GoGo Penguin https://tidal.com/album/233422594?u- Leonarfd

I was thinking about only making a post about them, but I'll probably make a mini review of sorts. This reminds me alot of Penon Serial but from CCA for 10% of the cost, quite impressive imo.- Leonarfd

Never heard this one before, just listened trough with CCA Trio + Simgot Dew4x. Quite diverse electronica, every track quite different and interesting. Dragon of Darkness Flame is maybe favorite or the more hip hop styled Little Mac.- Leonarfd

Got something new and shiny, it's the VE SM Gold. Wonder if it will come a model that's not gold, that's available to buy for the rest since this is SVIP only. I'm hyped to have a listen after work today, heard big words from two friends. Both rate it quite high on the VE lineup, my go to VE...- Leonarfd
