Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
This works for restaurants (non-fast food types) as well. If the lot is full of cars with local tags, chances are it's quite good. The local folks know. That works for us in Tennessee and even worked on our 1999 world tour in Brienz, Switzerland. :)- RCBinTN

What book are you reading right now?
The writing is first-person and delightfully done. Mr. Clemens writes in five Missouri dialects and his disclaimer reads: "The shadings have not been done in a haphazard fashion, or by guesswork; but painstakingly, and with the trustworthy guidance and support of personal familiarity with these...- RCBinTN

What Are You Listening To Right Now?
When I got into this hobby, most everybody had the Audez'e LCD-2 or LCD-3. I personally have owned the X and XC, then sold them after I heard the LCD-4 which I still own. That Audez'e house bass is not easily beat! For today: in memory of David Sanborn. Not easy choices - there are many... -

We see that sort of driving behavior every day around here. That's why driving has become a chore instead of a fun excursion. It's best to avoid the interstate highways at all cost. :-) OK back to the tube discussion.- RCBinTN

What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Thanks all for the David Sanborn suggestions, will begin to research him tomorrow. For today, classical music: Ranked as one of the best performances due to the genius of Kleiber. Quite amazing that YouTube offers complete symphonies ... enjoy, friends. "Pastoral." HD800... -

I think it was @earnmyturns who posted this recommendation, today I got about 1/2 way through before running out of time. I will revisit this album soon, because the music is awesome. The young pianist, Herr Julius Asal, is a wizard. The recording quality by Deutsche Grammophon is top notch. :-)- RCBinTN

What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Song composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Brad offers his interpretations of the Bach compositions. Two new Brad Mehldau albums from last week, and jazz big-band from Darcy James Argue in 2009. Edit: The Mehldau is tremendous, especially the Bach which is beautiful. The Darcy is similar to his... -

You bet - the album is great. Regarding Chick's stage presence, here he invites an audience member to come up and play a duet with him. This was recorded in Paris in 2018 ...- RCBinTN

You bet, my pleasure. I enjoyed Chick's improvisation of three Thelonious Monk songs the most, but the entire album is a blast. :-) -

So no 29 hands in your leagues? The odds against a 29, I'm sure, are astronomically high. The good/bad cuts and bad breaks will eventually even out in the long run.- RCBinTN

What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Dig all the jazz drummers on display today. Very cool. These two go together: Domenico Scarlatti. Now the Russian composer Alexander Scriabin. So Chick invites somebody from the audience to come up and play a duet ... More Scarlatti. These guys do classical really well together... -

Too bad. The other games we play here are Acey-Deucy (on a backgammon board) and gin rummy. She consistently wins at the former, whilst I dominate at the latter (so we rarely play it). We're evenly-matched at cribbage with games often coming down to the wire.- RCBinTN

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Thanks, yes we like it a lot. I contacted David (The Cribbage Guy) and asked him to make me a Drueke board that could handle 2" pegs. He took it from there and came back with the design. If you go to his website and click on "Custom Boards" you will see the genius of his work. It's his full-time...- RCBinTN

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
My grandparents were from the UP and had a huge custom board in their house. They kept track of a lot of measures including crib points. Over the course of many years, they determined the average crib to be worth 2.4 points. Seems kinda low to me, but that's what grandpa told me. BTW, our house...- RCBinTN

Very nice - cribbage tables! I think David (The Cribbage Guy) may have an example on his website, but I don't remember his as being folding. Nice hand indeed ... 24. That's my high since we now keep track. Annette had a 28 hand (once). I've been playing for 50+ years and never saw a 29 hand...- RCBinTN
