Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

The M1060 v2's use a standard flush 2.5mm connector where the HD700's use an extended 2.5mm connector. So as long as you don't mind the connector not being flush any HD700 connector with a balanced cable will work.

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

I actually own some of these for my HD700's they are super nice and not too overpriced.

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

I have a pair of those Audeze pads already.  Did you have to glue them back onto the 1060's? Do you have any pictures or explanation as to how you attached the new Audeze pads?  I don't have the 1060's but am seriously thinking about getting them.  The only planars I have at the moment are my...

Don't buy any FiiO product from SainStore on Amazon and how to distinguish a genuine FiiO E6 from a fake one

Quote: Yes, I recently just bought from them on Amazon.  I got the accessory pack that came with an extra battery.  It was actually really nice because the regular battery had no charge but the spare one did and I wanted to test it as soon as I got it.  The extra battery is slightly bigger...

Denon D2000 or Ultrasone 750 Pro?

Quote: I was looking at the 650's previously but they are pricey.  What is a markl mod?  I'm kinda new to the audiophile world so sorry if I ask a lot of questions.

Denon D2000 or Ultrasone 750 Pro?

Quote: What is the major difference between the D2000 and D5000 models?  Spec wise they seem the same other than the D5000's having natural wood.

Denon D2000 or Ultrasone 750 Pro?

I like the specs on the D2000's they definitely have a higher price point though.  The Ultrasone 750's are nice to look at but I really don't want shrieking treble...I already don't like what I get from my Beyer 990 Pro's sometimes.  I guess my question is, which cans have a better overall sound...

Denon D2000 or Ultrasone 750 Pro?

I recently bought a pair of Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250 Ohm and I'm not quite liking the sound signature.  The overall sound is nice but I'm looking for punchy low end bass.  The treble is almost piercing in the 990's as well so I can't really listen to them past a certain sound level without...

    Best Headphones for the buck

Quote: It looks like the D2000 have a wider frequency range compared to the others.  How do you think they compare to the PRO 750 and the DT770's?  I actually heard a pair of DT770's in store and they had a nice little punch of bass.  I could probably use a little more bass than the DT770's...

    Best Headphones for the buck

Ok so I got my DT 990 Pro 250 Ohm's today and have been listening to them.  I actually love the level of the treble, and mids, I think they fit just right, but I keep finding myself lacking that nice low punchy bass that I love in all my music.  I am always turning up the bass on the Fiio E-11...

Quote: Thanks for that clarification.  As I said I'm a little new to the audiophile world and some of the technical aspects aren't always so clear to me.  I thnk I get what you are saying though.  The HD 598's are originally what I was looking at but after much deliberation I believe I am...

    Best Headphones for the buck

Quote: Like I said if I ultimately don't like them I'll return them within the window. I'd say that if a majority of the people that I have talked to so far have a pair in their arsenal then they are obvioussly good headphones. I'll cross my fingers and hope for the best, how does that...

    Best Headphones for the buck

So I think I've come to a conclusion after much deliberation and research.  I am going to try  the DT 990 Pro 250ohms and get the Fiio e11 as a portable amp.  These should work with the ASUS Xonar Essence STX I plan on buying as well.  I feel that if I order them and don't like them I can always...

    Best Headphones for the buck

Quote: I like your thinking MEDO. ;) I really like the thought of the elevated bass and treble for the 990's since that is usually how I configure any EQ anyway for my taste.  It sounds like they fall right into my alley as far as sound experience.  It would be nice if I had a place around...

    Best Headphones for the buck

Quote: Gotcha.  I might stick with the e11 if it will suffice, both seem to have the same specs anyway other than the e17 having some additional plug in options (usb),a touch screen, and maybe some extra EQ settings?  Not sure if the e-17 is worth the extra 100 bucks. I've also read about...

    Best Headphones for the buck

Quote: Yeah...I'm good without the pleather case..lol.  Everything is leading me back around to the DT990's as far as best bang for the buck.  I like the thought of the 880's with a semi open back as well so think I'm kinda stuck between the two.  Both being 250 Ohms that is.  However the...

    Best Headphones for the buck

Quote: I honestly don't plan on getting anything higher than a 250 Ohm.  With that being said, are the e11 and e17 plenty of power?  I did read in their specs that they supply up to 300Ohms.  Are there any other portable amp you prefer that have a decent price tag?

    Best Headphones for the buck

Quote: That was my take on the Pro's vs the Premiums... I just couldn't find a major difference with the $100 price tag.  I like the sound of the D2000's to be honest but I just don't think I can stretch the budget that far especially if I can stick with a set of Pro 990's at $180.  I'd...

    Best Headphones for the buck

Quote: Hmmm...I'm not quite so sure now.  I know they were higher than the 380's a tested I could also tell because the volume was lower at full power.  I had just used my phone and popped some pandora..lol.  The price tag for the 880's are a little higher than I'd like to spend but if they...

Quote: This is why I feel I would not like any 600ohm applications.  I wouldn't feel like carrying around a larger portable device to power 600ohm either.  I'm thinking the 250ohm range is a happy medium for my tastes.

    Best Headphones for the buck

Quote: It's definitely a trend that higher impedance headsets are more on the expensive side I've seen almost all the more expensive headsets around a grand, or even more, with mostly higher Ohm ratings of 250 or more, more frequent than not.  From my understanding any headset with a higher...

    Best Headphones for the buck

Quote: I did some searching and I see what you are talking about with the D2000's.  They seem to be the "new" best all-around headphone.  Very punchy bass and most reviewers have said with great overall clarity and quality.  They are quite expensive so I see why you recommend looking in the...

I haven't looked at the Denon's at all to be honest but I will check them out.  In reply to the 770's being a 150Ohm version I'm pretty sure that's what it said on the back of the package unless that was just an optimal rating.  I'm not quite sure.  I actually am quite heavily into gaming hence...
