Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Any chance of Schitt tweaking the Magnius to make the single-ended side much better? This aspect is holding me back from buying this product.

Is there anything better than Takstar Pro 82's in the sub $100 range?

For closed, the Takstar Pro 82 are unbeatable at that price. For open headphones, I do like the ISK HF2010 and they're just around USD 35. But try out my mod for these. Takstar Pro 82 are a bit more sibilant/peaky at high frequencies, are a bit hot for the part of the world I'm in unless AC is...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

By microphonics I mean with the headphone on your ears, if you touch/rub the pads or cups or cables close to the ear, you will hear the rubbing sounds in the cups, as if amplified or that rubbing sound "resonates" in the cups. In a room with ceiling fan, the "turbulent"air flow over the pads can...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

The problem is it is very hard to find the plastic ring to attach the pads. Does anyone know where to find these? However, I think the HM5 pads can wrap over the actual cup so may not be an issue.

The Takstar, Technical Pro, Gemini Greathon, CyberX, Qpad Thread

ISK HF2010 Mods and why I like it: 1. Take off the metal ISK label on the sides of the headphone. The sound stage is better and more airy. 2. Open the cups up, in the middle there is a small circular area that is not covered by felt and covered by black foam. Cover this area up with felt...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

This thread is still going strong after all these years. Just shows how well accepted this Pro 82 is. I'll add me brief opinion: Regarding the sound quality, I'll agree with most reviews. You just want the bass ports closed or at position 1. Construction is good with no creakiness, none at all...

Ok. Thanks. I guess that listing is ok then. The Sennheiser ones have this twist lock connection at the end. I will take the standard one.

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

Can anyone point me to an Aliexpress source for a compatible cable for the Takstar Pro 82? I only found 1 source who labels the cable Takstar Pro 82 cable. There must be another way to describe this cable ?? (I'm bothered by the microphonics of the original cable and was wondering if a fabric...

Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (On or Over Ear Headphones)

Anyone has EQ info for the ISK HF2010 to adjust it close to the Harman curve?

Does anyone know if parametric equalization info is available for the ISK HF2010? (Perhaps under a different brand in the GitHub EQ database)? Thanks

SIVGA PHOENIX OPEN BACK WOOD DYNAMIC

Has anyone here compared the Siva Phoenix with the Beyerdynamic Tygr 300R? Zeos says they have "similar" sound and looking at the frequency response curves I can see some similarities except for the higher base shelf of the Phoenix. Anyone opinion? Both are build well but I think the Tygr will...

The Mod Collective: Bring all your full sized headphone mods here.

I don’t know but I know can have various thickness. I’m also not sure if the material will fall apart into different layers when cut or how to seal the cut edge.

The Mod Collective: Bring all your full sized headphone mods here.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried out the material called Hygrolon for headphone mod? Seems quite a few manufacturers have used it (or something similar) to tame the high treble - eg. Beyerdynamic Tygr 300 R (Which has more tamed treble then the DT880 Pro from which it is based). I see...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

Of the cheap headphones, I really like the ISK HF2010 (With the name plate removed from the grill - it is covering the vent) and the Samsung earbud tuned by AKG. Cheap legends. Now looking for a closed set. The Pro82 as well as the GM200 are still worth considering.

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

OK. I watch the review on youtube - . Listening on the ISK HF2010 it does sound quite hot in the treble region in this older version. Not sure if the newer ones improve on this. He did make note of the measurements on DIYaudio. Guess I'm still in the search for a more neutral closed-back.

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

Hmm. Would you mind trying the GM200 with the ports taped closed compared with the Pro 82 (ports closed)? Thx

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

Yeah. Looks like I'm leaning towards the GM200, the bass shelf looks cleaner. With the bass port taped shut, I assume the sound is like the default Pro 82.

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

So you don't recommend this for pure headphone use (without mic)? Is there is a supplied cable to use this without the mic? BTW, how similar is the sound of the GM200 compared with the Pro 82 (at which bass port ?) Basically can't decide. Seems like I can just tape over the port to get the...

Which type of glue to use?

Goldring DR-150. 40mm 32 ohm. Typical ones. Not original of course. Damaged because uneven sound and when I ran the frequency sweep it crackles and beeps at certain frequency. i am an adult. Lol.

Which type of glue to use?

I’m thinking of doing a DIY repair of my headphone driver which is damaged due to age. The drivers are on their way. May I know which type of glue is suitable for gluing the new driver in place after I removed the old one? Thx.

Fostex T50RP Incremental Mods and Measurements

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

Just got into this game so need to clarify a few things.... Interested in MagickMan's mod (The non-destructive and reversible bits only - LOL). I have some ideas but alas all are conjectures - this was one of the few that was properly measured. The link...
