The more I listen to these IEMs the more I like them.... but it does cause me to ponder... Are they IE-10s or IE-30s.... Ive looked at images online of both and have a hard time distinguishing one from the other .....   Does anyone out there know a sure fire way to distinguish the 10 from...

Ahhhh... So they are not anything special.... I picked them up "second hand" in a bundle of other really cheap earbuds for $6 and was surprised by the sound.... I have a set of Shure SE-535s and the sound for this "found" set is quite good in comparison... Seems the highs are much more...

Picked up this pair of IEMs that sound pretty damn good... the only discernible mark is a V.... Ive searched the V Moda models and nothing they have in their recent lineups seems to resemble this item...and they have detachable cables which would seem to indicate to me a more recent model...

Well this story is now closed.  Despite concerns some have about the SE535 sound, I decided to send the E5's back with a letter, essentially begging for mercy and asking that due to what I believed to be manufacturing/design defects that they replace the E5s for me....   As of about 30...

As I said... my cables are shot and are a known weakness on most of these IEMs (thus the trend towards removeable cables of late)  and a large part of why I wanted to reshell (to get new cables).....So using my existing cables is really not an option worth considering...  I suppose there must...

I called & talked to Kaysen I think ?  Anyway all was well until I asked about what happens with the crossover at the junction of left and right cables from earpieces... its about the size of a dime.... She indicates you have to use your existing cables to keep that crossover... which of course...

Not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask these questions and so if it is not, my apologies in advance.   I have a pair of Shure E5c's that have typical cable issues and that nasty green corrosion up around the ear bends....  I corresponded by email with Shure about cable replacement...

Good point.. but the reshell Im looking at include removeable cables as well....  and the bonus would be a custom fitted earpiece which I would not get with the SE 535s......

Well the bad news is that I contacted Shure and they will not repair / replace the cables.. apparently the problem is so common they have a pat answer.. we will replace with the new se 535 for $240... end of story...  Which I have to say sucks... because even though I didnt pay $400 for them...

Wow.. thanks.. I had no idea they were of that quality / price range... Sounds like it might be worth checking to see if Shure can recable for me ...  Thanks again...   I thought they sounded great but what do I know !
