Want To Buy WTB/EU Campfire Andromeda or Ara
- Price
- 500.00 EUR
- Condition
- Fair
- Negotiability
- Or best offer
- Ships to

I'm looking for some Campfire Andromeda or Ara IEMs around the stated price. Not really picky with the IEMs' cosmetic condition, but should be trouble-free electrically/acoustically. Shipping would have to be to Austria, payment PayPal or bank transfer. Thanks for looking!- Rodeodave

The Stax Thread III
Today I finally got around to finish the step down transformer build for my newly acquired SRM-007tA. The Stax amp is now running off a 100VAC balanced output step down transformer. It's all a bit messy still, but so far I really like what I'm hearing!- Rodeodave

The Stax thread (New)
Okay, so this is what the input to the primary side of the transformer of my newly acquired SRM-007tA looks like. Just two wires... Being from Japan, the unit is configured for 100VAC. I guess this is bad news for my plans to convert the amp to 240VAC input?- Rodeodave

The Stax Thread III
I have an SRM-007tA on the way, could anyone please provide me (or point me towards) a schematic of the 007tA (or 007t ii)? I've searched but haven't found anything useful thus far.- Rodeodave

Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6
I'm using a rockbox Sansa Clip+ for the gym and for biking (VE Monk Plus on the bike, and only uphill). Some day it'll succumb to all the dirt and grime, and I'll be screwed. I got a nice deal on a Shanling M1 which I'm using for travelling. It's a really nice portable player, but it's quite a...- Rodeodave

Introducing Shanling M0 - Nano sized Hi-Res player. LDAC BT support, Sabre ES9218p
This could finally be the alternative to the Sansa Clip+ player I've been looking for. Good luck with the M0's launch!- Rodeodave

Amps that can drive the HiFiMan HE-6 planar headphones
Regarding potentiometer positions and output power: A typical logarithmic potentiometer will pass around 10% of the input signal at the 12 o'clock position, and wattage figures are often well inflated...- Rodeodave

HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone
Generally speaking, it doesn't make sense to attenuate a signal only to then amplify it again. So this would point towards the lowest gain setting you can get away with. Then again, you don't want to have an excessive input signal which may drive the last amplifying stage into clipping to...- Rodeodave

History of the AKG K1000?
A quick question to all of you who have taken apart their K1000: How hard is it to re-install the black plastic frame that keeps the wire grills together? What's the main challenge, getting the grills lined up or getting the ends of the frame to snap onto the pins next to the screws?- Rodeodave

Shanling M1: An iPod Nano Competitor / DAP || USB DAC || USB Transport || Bluetooth 4.0 + aptX || DSD
The S5 is USB 3.0 micro b, but a regular USB 2.0 micro b works too. I currently have a USB 3.0 micro b -> USB 3.0 Standard-A plug cable on the S5 and a USB 3.0 Standard-A receptacle -> USB-C plug going to the M1. When I connect the two, the S5 starts charging from the M1. When I then enter the...- Rodeodave

Shanling M1: An iPod Nano Competitor / DAP || USB DAC || USB Transport || Bluetooth 4.0 + aptX || DSD
I'm having trouble getting the M1 to work as a USB DAC. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 with lineage OS 14.1 which is an Android 7.1.2 ROM. The M1 is on the recently released 4.0 firmware and I have the v3.0.0 build 5350 app. I'd like to use the M1 for music played by the S5. Can anyone give me a...- Rodeodave

Comment by 'Rodeodave' in article 'AKG K1000 - A collection of information and links'
Is there any way to recover or fix the links? I'm guessing the broken links are due to the new design/host/code of the site. Too bad, such a nice compilation of information...- Rodeodave

Hi Heinz, how nice, a reply from Mr. K1000 himself. Ever since I got to listen to your bass heavy prototype at the meet in Vienna, I'm kind of looking for an excuse to get one of these extravagant headphones. Thanks for your insight! Dave- Rodeodave

Shanling M1: An iPod Nano Competitor / DAP || USB DAC || USB Transport || Bluetooth 4.0 + aptX || DSD
Are there silicone cases available for the M1? I can only seem to find one single type of leather case. Since I want to use the M1 for listening to music while doing sports, a silicone case with a clip would be ideal. Does anyone have experience with the M1 for sports/biking? I'm looking to...- Rodeodave

The Stax Thread III
I'll admit that I overreacted a bit. I just about completely lost it when I saw these awful shiny metal tube covers that you normally only see inside cheap Chinese gear. In Morgan Jones' opinion, a shiny plain metal shielding can (without black paint inside and out) generally is an abomination...- Rodeodave

The Stax Thread III
Tubes generally have an electron-emitting cathode, a grid and an electron-collecting anode. Most often, the electron flow through a tube is controlled by wiggling the electric potential of the grid, while the cathode is kept at a constant potential. In different topologies, the electron flow...- Rodeodave

Amps that can drive the HiFiMan HE-6 planar headphones
The context of the posting on eBay is that the text is copy&paste from the F7 manual, word for word. There's nothing authentic about it. The problem is that someone gullible or ignorant enough will buy this amp, decide that it sounds like the piece of crap it is and comment that "the F7" or...- Rodeodave
