The problem is not IRQs, its that the PCI buss it self maxes out at 133MB/s. A single U320 SCSI disk can max that out easily. That means that you have a 133MB/s link to the north bridge, if that link is saturated than you will have issues. On my mainboard, others may be different, the USB ports...
