I have a Denon DRA-397 stereo/analog receiver, I am playing Apple Lossless files from a Macbook via the usb port to an external HRT Music Streamer 2 USB DAC.

My Computer is about 12 feet from my receiver, should the external DAC be next to the receiver with a long USB cable going to the computer or next to the computer using long RCA cables going to the receiver or does it not matter either way?
