    CanOpener?

I assume so. I wonder if it's related to another occasional problem. I wake up my iPod and even though I never disconnected my ear buds, Canopener still asks me to select an output.

    CanOpener?

I had a very unusual experience last night. I paused Canopener and then my iPod fell asleep. I then pressed play and it was blazingly loud.   Can you please add the Momentum On Ear headphones?

HD800 - Pink Floyd Time - Very Shrill Bells

I don't trust the dummy! :) At least not compared to the official certificate I just got from Sennheiser.

HD800 - Pink Floyd Time - Very Shrill Bells

Thanks for the graph. I'm waiting for my personal FR graph from Sennheiser. It does look like there would be emphasis on those bells. So maybe the HD800 does make them more shrill than they're supposed to be. I don't know the FR for the HD700, but those bells were more mellow on the HD700...

Is there a cheapere alternative to B&W MM-1 Speakers?

Here are a couple that weren't mentioned yet. For low to medium listening levels, for example if these will be on your desk, try the Tivoli Model 2. The MM-1 is more detailed, but the Model 2 is $300 versus $500. The Model 2 sounds very good, just not great. And there's a sub-woofer option...

B&W MM-1 Speakers having trouble connecting to iPhone or iPod Touch

The sound of these speakers at low to medium volume is excellent. I have my iPhone 5s (or iPod Touch 5th gen) connected to the USB input through the Apple CCK. It works fine once the connection is made, but it's tedious to connect.   If I want to connect, I need to power on the MM-1, power...

HD800 - Pink Floyd Time - Very Shrill Bells

That's what I was asking.     They only move a little, but I'm now convinced that that's how they're supposed to sound and that this is the first time I've listened with such accurate headphones.

Objective 2 (and O2+ODAC) Impressions Thread

Oh, be sure to make the white areas, the areas you want engraved, black on your JPEG -- like a film negative.

Thanks for letting us know. Most people who have nothing to say don't even have the decency to respond!

HD800 - Pink Floyd Time - Very Shrill Bells

Oh, it's in the Immersion set. Too bad you have to pay $150 for all that other stuff. I thought the blu-ray was for the 5.1. I didn't realize it was also for better quality stereo. It's tempting, but after just spending so much for the HD800, the O2+ODAC and C5D, I think I better cool it for...

HD800 - Pink Floyd Time - Very Shrill Bells

If I come across the other masters at a reasonable price, I might give them a try. Right now, I'm thoroughly enjoying the Discovery CDs. The blu-ray sounds cool. Can you share a link?

Objective 2 (and O2+ODAC) Impressions Thread

I agree that the O2 is a lot of fun! My headphones are medium impedance (300 ohms) and high sensitivity (102 db), but thanks for the pointer. Maybe others will find your booster board useful.      You forgot the end of my sentence. I wasn't complaining. I like neutral and I get just the...

    CanOpener?

I'm not sure, but I think I've seen more people talk about the W series. The W40 is the latest model, replacing the W4 and W4R.

Objective 2 (and O2+ODAC) Impressions Thread

Wow. I wasn't expecting a rant at all in response to my starting an "appreciation" thread. Besides, I never said that the lack of bass punch is why they're neutral. I simply said that the worst criticism by reviewers was that they were "too neutral" AND "lacking bass punch." Although, once...

HD800 - Pink Floyd Time - Very Shrill Bells

They weren't THAT BAD. :) Definitely lacking without Waters. Must have been cool at THE wall. I have the original vinyls, but no way to listen to them. All the original Beatles vinyls too. Thanks for the links. I have to look, but I think I may have that version of DSOTM somewhere. It looks...

I just replaced my Westone W4R with the Westone W40. They're really close, but if you can, please add the W40.

HD800 - Pink Floyd Time - Very Shrill Bells

I'm a huge fan, too. I was lucky enough to see the DSOTM concert. As I was reimporting Ummagumma, I remembered the big NYT ad for that concert tour with the headline, "Pink Floyd on the Road." I converted it to halftone to look more like the newspaper ad.     So, do you think the 2007 Oh...

HD800 - Pink Floyd Time - Very Shrill Bells

Oh by the way... I listened to Echoes and it was fantastic. I've listened to Echoes literally hundreds of times, but I've never heard it like this before. The "squawking" is sharp, but not what I would call harsh. Maybe you popped your eardrums with the valsalva maneuver or you should try the...

HD800 - Pink Floyd Time - Very Shrill Bells

It took me a while to import the 2007 recordings. I had to find them first. I'm glad I did. I love the mini-reproductions of the original albums. Very nostalgic.   Well, the shrillness was just on the bells, and only the ones from the right. I think they're the third or fourth bells you...

Objective 2 (and O2+ODAC) Impressions Thread

This isn't intended as a review, but as the start of an Objective 2 appreciation thread. I've had the Objective 2 + ODAC Combo for a couple weeks now and I absolutely love it. I may be late to the party, but I believe there are at least hundreds of other O2 owners out there that probably...

HD800 - Pink Floyd Time - Very Shrill Bells

I tried the RS1s and I felt they were harsh in general, so I can imagine how the bells must sound. I listened to all of Wish You Were Here and didn't notice any shrillness. I'll listen to it again and try Echoes, too.     It's good to know it's not the HD800. I don't remember the HD600...

HD800 direct to receiver headphone jack?

A lot has happened since my last post here. I got the Objective 2 (after I got the C5D) since my last post and I love it. So, so, so much better than my receiver. I can't even listen to that anymore. Plus I've got the O2 sitting right next to me instead of across the room.   But, now I tried...
